God i love a good graph :D :D
Lol rich people still going to tesco and super value !
Receipt probably fell to the bottom because its made of light paper. Happens innit bruv.
Whats the key? Is top line 29.09.24 and bottom line 02.10.22 ?
Top is 2024.
How do you get out if you don't buy anything? I often go in for somethings (e.g. a special buy) and they don''t have it and leave without buying aynthing, how do you get out with no receipt?
The gate to get out, is right beside the checkouts. why would anyone put the receipt in their bag??
Muscle memory?
We're not fancy enough up here to have self-checkouts yet.
I see it now. Its really sad to see aldi versus lidl on that graph. Its a clear trend of lidl going up and aldi going down since 2021
Big move is away from Supervalu and Others, which are probably local shops. Makes sense as those shops really are very high priced.
If you move the slider on the link I gave under the graph, you can see that Lidl has lost a bit of share over the past two months. As a shopper, I think Dunnes has the edge at this point.
Yeah the Dunnes vouchers are very hard to beat in combination with their fruit, veg, pretty much all food quality. I'd hit €125+ most weekends but knock €25 off with the vouchers and that leaves a full trolley for €100 of higher quality goods than equivalent Lidl ones. Even own brand stuff like black bags, washing up liquid are better between the two. I couldn't be bothered possibly saving a few euros to get in general worse quality and smaller selection.
This week’s coupon code is
PARKRUN679
and will allow you a choice between
a loose grapefruit
or
funsize bananas
On self+checkouts you cannot pack as you go, only after payment. If you try, you get an error (from the change of weight in the bagging area). One Lidl shop would not allow me to use my own bag until after payment. It's a stupid system.
It would be easy for someone to put the receipt into the bag while packing. It's also habit, and people are great at forming habits.
It's silly having to swipe out. They are obviously wary of loss through theft. If so, why introduce self-checkout. In the UK retailers are on record that loss is up since their introduction and some are scaling back on self-checkout.
Has anyone got this week's Parkrun code?
Good one! ;)
Has anyone won on the giveaway scratch cards (the voucher prize)? I've gotten 4 x 30% off chef selects lol
~40 e1000 vouchers across ~160 stores. Not good odds
with a bit of luck a poster in here might get one, lots of decent wins on the competition pages. :)
If only they had some kind of analytics …
it was two posts above yours
I'd easily do it only for the no-alcohol rule
Any chance this is LIDL refunding you 1 cent that they "charged" your bank card to verify it?
The vouchers are now absolutely shocking. Complete junk. Completely putting me off going to Lidl. Its not that much cheaper now at all that dunnes with a voucher. And I shudder with that sentence…
what vouchers ? lidl plus offers is where the bargains are and sometimes they are good sometimes they have nothing of interest. maybe you are looking at the treats section which is kind of dead now as they have done away with the need to activate offers.
personally i would not show loyalty to any shop and browse the bargains/special offers in all my local supermarkets to save money
The qpons you get for spending 10 euro.
They're supposed to reward us, instead they infuriate us.
so we have gone from vouchers to coupons so we are talking about the scratch cards, they have never been any good, free pastries that cost next to nothing when bought wholesale and free bars of chocolate are pathetic and 30% off red hen garbage is even worse
parkrun is still good
Customer service apology qpons used to be good, I don't think they even give them out anymore.
;)
Way better than the summer fruit pots now, potatoes one was great
Yes the Roosters one restarted old habits. They are so easy in the microwave.
How do you know when the Lidl pay is paid, whenever I use tap it shows a check on my phone, right now I'm just getting physical receipts so I can tell. I just don't want an awkward moment where if I leave immediately and it turns out the payment didn't go through.
Deal of the century.
