Write to TII, they own the sites. AG are just leasing them as far as I know.
Coming soon in yellow
Handy if stuck, they really need to reduce their prices though!
it was commissioned today.
Not showing as live on Apple green app.
I see balbriggan can now charge 4 cars at once
To be honest I didnt expect them to go to the full 400kW, but well done. So pretty much a guaranteed 200kW per car which is excellent. I guess this makes it the most powerful charger on the island.
Hopefully we see more of these around the country.
Why is there a big black spot in Cork.
For all chargers, Cork is a real Black spot. So annoying.
New ecars site in charleville, & macroom, Tesla superchargers open to all.ccs cars in cork city. There may not be sustained all year round demand in West cork as most people in the area can probably home charger. This is the all brands map according to plugshare app, while far from perfect if you have a 300+km range EV it should not be that difficult when our and about. Orange markers are CCS, green are slow AC..
It's not quite a lease agreement, it's a Design, Build, Finance, Maintain and Operate contract. At the end of the 25-year period they have to hand it back (or not if the sites are re-tendered and they win), but they have a lot of freedom to control what happens on the site for those 25 years.
€1bn investment between Ireland, UK and USA announced today.
The ECars in Charleville at the Inver isn't operational yet
An Taisce objecting to a Naas Applegreen that has a 36 vehicle hub in its plans.
However, in an appeal lodged with An Bord Pleanala, An Taisce’s Heritage Officer, Ian Lumley contends that the scheme would create a lock into car-based development and undermine the function of existing urban and village centres. He said that the incorporation of electric vehicle charging points does not resolve the unsustainability of the proposal “which would worsen private car based mobility and congestion generation and undermine sustainable car use and transport objectives”.

Another Quango….
The old cemex site is a bloody eye sore. Local politicians and locals alike have been harping on about it for years. Now that this quango has stuck the boot in the locals will have to put up with the toxicity of the site for another few years at best.
FYI

Great to know that all the locations which have 1 charger will have a queue tomorrow 😏
A pity it's not on Friday, travelling from Cork to Donegal this weekend, I would certainly make use of it.
to be honest, if I was doing a long drive the same day of one of these promotions, I’d probably avoid Applegreen unless I was literally driving past and saw an available charger….
Applegreen chargers will be a taxi hub on the day.

Looking forward to a bunch of unoccupied pedastals and a single power limited charger
They seem to be the only ones building their zevi 1 sites. Dunshaughlin looks impressive but the chargers still have covers on them, presumably waiting for power.
I thought there were supposed to be a dozen or more zevi 1 sites built around the country. Nothing happening at portlaoise plaza or on the M9 sites.
Unless I'm mistaken the ZEVI 1 sites have to be operational by the years end or they lose their funding. I'd imagine most will commence the ground work in the coming weeks and months
In a previous round in border counties they "launched" the chargers and then mothballed them until ESB networks supplied sufficient power. This could easily happen again with planning delays, timeline to deliver new EV chargers, groundworks, commissioning, ESB networks upgrades etc.
Presumably if the CPOs do their bit before the deadline, even if ESBN are still sitting on their hands they will get the grant money so not too bad
Thats a ridiculous amount of concrete to be poured going by the reinforcement.
I'm guessing they're doing a whole new line of paving based on the patch of grass they dug up
Looks like 8 spaces being used, but that doesn't mean 8 chargers
I'm guessing 3 units with 2 plugs each for a total of 6?
Anyone know what the original grant was for?
Yeah as much as I hate seeing money being paid for inoperative chargers, there's only so much can be done without ESBN making the grid upgrades needed
The zevi 1 grant required hubs to be minimum 1200kW. The planning Applegreen received approval for was 4 chargers / 8 bays. The planning submission drawings show the 400kW XCharge unit. Presumably the same chargers they've installed at Dunshaughlin.
Btw the zevi layout is freakishly massive at dunshaughlin. Just look at them compared to the Tesla bays on the far left below. I'm not surprised so much concrete is needed.

I'll give Applegreen some credit, they've had some decent accessibility around their chargers since day 1
Often the spaces are good and wide and there's no kerbs so in theory someone in a wheelchair could use the chargers
Now there's a big caveat in that they often have the cables sitting on the ground, hopefully the newer units will have cable holders to prevent this
This is in contrast to many Ecars hubs which don't seem to have been designed for use by humans
