Of course, but it will be near 10k cheaper. That’s the trade off. Car history checks are a thing. Finance is all online and registered.
If there’s finance then once the seller is upfront about it (otherwise all bets are off). What I’ve done many times is ask the seller what the settlement figure is. Usually they’ll know. Then if a deal can be done, you meet up at a bank of the finance company, aib for example. Usually the settlement figures are valid for a that calander month or so, or up until the next payment.
On the day you can ask him to call them on loud speaker, get them to confirm the figure which you’ll hear. then you simply lodge that amount into the bank account of the finance and pay seller the balance.
I understand it my not be for everyone but it’s how you get cars cheaper and avoid depreciation in some cases.
Yeah, had a white 205GTi back in the day, loved it, so I didn't mind washing it every second day 🤣
Blue one is the one I'm interested in, black is hard to keep clean too.
At the time I bought mine, I had a choice of black or white. Already had a black car, so went with white. 🤣
Not sure that one in Greystones has the pilot pack. Just mentions adaptive headlights, not matrix. There were very few with that pack, I think it was only on the early models here.
Edit: Just to add that it's hard enough to get the performance model. There haven't been any for months and then a couple turn up. They've a good few of the facelift on sale, but I really don't like that they've taken away the 'grille'.
yeah, not sure, I've squinted and zoomed the picture of the headlight and think at this stage I may have convinced myself there's 2 lines of writing not one !!
Do you mine me asking what have you the dampers set at?
I see there's a BST for sale for 59k. I think that was in the showroom when Nobby on Cars @MarkN was in doing a video. He might remember it. Price drop from 69k.
I still have them at the nominal setting. A bit teeth jarring on bumpy roads, like mine 🤣. But I love the handling as well, so am reluctant to change. Always meant to have a go at testing them at different settings, but never got around to it. Not sure this is the best weather for it now.
That was €69k a few weeks back. I have it saved.

Edit. I see you mention that. I should read all the post before replying!!
I'm think of starting around 11/12, see how I get one.
The 270 is nice, but another 18k 😲I'll be divorced and that will be even more expensive 😉
Let me know how it feels. I think nominal is at 8.
7 If memory serves me.
Don't be pushing me to spend €41k now 😁
I think you've already convinced yourself. Don't be blaming me. 😉
It's always easier to blame someone else………
I bought my P2 privately a few weeks ago. Got a cartell check done on it to confirm all was good, met the owner and transferred the €30k via revolut on the spot and drove off happy as Larry! Loving the car so far, zero issues with it and took a drive down to Kerry and it did the 300kms on a full charge
Just a point to note about the car in Greystones. It doesn't have the performance upgrade (badge missing from front grille), so that's a €1,000 extra.
Up to you whether you want 476hp instead of 408. 🤣
I drove both today. Didn't notice any perceptible difference between them. I thought, perhaps incorrectly, that the performance upgrade was the brembos, ohlins, seat-belts and extra bhp? No?
Just looked and the one on the Done Deal reviews doesn't have the badge either, but is certainly claiming the 476bhp.
Apparently this was the first registered Polestar in Ireland
That's the performance pack. The performance upgrade is an OTA update that brings the bhp from 408 to 476 and the torque up to 500nM. Costs €1,000, but you can only buy it if you have the performance pack.
It will show up in the app under specifications.
Edit: The one in Greystones definitely doesn't have it. Listed as 408bhp.
Ahh, ok, very useful to know, thanks. But you could have it and not put on the sticker I guess? It's advertised as 455BHP, sure felt like it.
Which one is that? Sticker is very discrete, can't see why you wouldn't after spending a grand on it. But I don't think any were bought after market. All the ones I saw were done by Polestar.
The Greystones one, both Dondeal and Carzone ads have as 455bhp
The Dondeal review video also doesn't have the sticker. Similar number range to the Greystones car
Personally, I wouldn't put the sticker on
Not seeing it. Says 408 on DD. Also acceleration matches non-performance upgrade at 4.7 seconds. Should be 4.2 with the upgrade.
Edit: Just read the description. It's all over the place, 455bhp doesn't exist in any model, 74kWh battery likewise. Says Pilot pack instead of pilot lite.
The actual description typed by him has the 455bhp in it.
But I take you point. I'm not sure who enters that or is automatically picked up. For example this one, from Polestar
https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/polestar-2-242-long-range-dual-motor-performance/38112874
Is the same. It would be strange that the first one the brought in that they wouldn't have done the s/w upgrade.
But thanks for pointing it out, I'll double check with him to be sure. Not something I would ever have spotted.
I just can't make up my mind which of the 2 I want 🙄
That second one is the facelift model. If Polestar say it has the upgrade, I'd go with that. The one in Greystones definitely doesn't. Not least because afaik, the upgrade came after that car was registered. Sometime in mid 2022, but could be later. Can't see the owner buying it and not including it in his ad.
Edit: This is from the blue one. Clearly the data is there. Probably not for the facelift model yet though. Incidentally, I see they're saying 4.4 seconds to 100. It used to be 4.2 and I've done 4.3 with three people in the car.
Bit of investigation required so. He didn't buy the car till mid 2023, so may have been done before then. He could also, like me, think it's there as it has the pack. You have it in yours? Would you mind sharing a screenshot of where I can see it please?
As I said, it's in the app under specifications. The owner can show that to you, there are no secrets there. 🤣
Here's mine
Also worth noting that any LRDM car can get the performance software upgrade, doesn't need to have the performance pack.
Seriously jealous of those dual motors
Yesterday, you were "Happy as Larry" 🤣
All that brake horse power has me drooling!
And where exactly on the route to Lidl are you likely to use it?
