Argentina threw that away in typical Argentinian fashion. Didn't even bother turning up for the match in the first 15 minutes.
Dreadful second half. Never looked like scoring
1 games versus 2 games, it was stupid to base it off one game, even 2, a season yes
A hard watch!!!
Ref almost apologetic at the end.
Yes we did based on the first half
Plus the score board doesn't like
Over the 80 Ireland was the better team
Argie are a good team by the way. Seems like some people felt it would be a walk over
WIlliams talking shìte as usual. Very poor second half.
We played some lovely stuff in patches but looked frantic all game and never managed to control the game. Delighted to get the win. We needed that. Penalty count needs sorting out. Crowley with a great first half performance. Big Joe gets MoTM. Love the interview, close to swearing there!
It was just a blip, we won the game.
Poor performance, but Prendergast stood out for his 20 mins.
Matt Williams obviously had his mind made up about Crowley but that's no surprise to anyone
I'd agree with a lot of that… I'd nearly go Cian Prendergast at 6 (or Baird, tho he went off injured).
We'll see more changes vs Fiji, but that's what I'd hope to see vs Aus.
Biggest take away from the last two weeks is that we are really struggling with the SH refs. We are on the wrong side of so many calls and got pinged for everyinor infraction.
we can put to bed any notion that this is a blip btw. Ireland are in trouble.
The mood will be positive but more so out of relief than anything positive we did.
Not a hope that's true, Brain dead from argie player for the yellow card allowed us off the hook
Ireland look clueless after 4 or 5 phases and panic.
And when that isn’t happening they make a mistake after 3 or 4 phases.
That’s if they manage to protect the ball at the ruck for 2 or 3 phases.
I think at that stage of the game territory is key and we had momentum. If we were 4 up there’s a stronger argument, 5 up and it’s a no brainier. Either way we got away with it tonight. No points in the second half.
Poor second half. Baird's HIA didn't help in terms of our speed to clearing rucks - the rows were knackered at that point.
Pumas got away with murder in terms of their counter rucking and hits imo. That penalty against Lowe for the push on the player that ran in front of him and planted his feet was the most egregious though.
Big performance from Argentina, but really we could have had that wrapped up by half time and put them away in the second half.
We outscored them 3 tries to 1 so we did deserve it.
The biggest issue is our discipline. It kept giving them access into the game.
No idea how that last yellow wasn't upgraded to a red at the end.
At least it's not 6 months before the world cup this time
Serious, serious questions need to be asked anout our disclipine again.
Serious, serious questions need to be asked about our lineout.
I thought our kicking from hand was very poor.
Our handling and some of our attacking play was much improved.
Henshaw was decent. Prendergast was promising.
Lowe must be coming under pressure
The mood will never be positive on this forum!
Every line break was a turn over, no support
ok, I will say it, Prendergast offered nothing in his 20 minutes on the pitch, turned over possession twice, bounced like a child in contact .
I’m not sure why he was brought on unless Farrell had a bet on an Argentina win.
Frawley surely has to start next week.
Ireland, concerningly, seem to suffer from the same issues as Leinster.
If we don’t put a team to bed early we can’t cope with it. It’s like we come out, try to win the game in the first 20 mins and when it doesn’t happen we panic.
Looking forward to the "it is what it is" interview this week.
Don’t agree with Joe Mc as MotM.
Would have been Ringrose for me. Thought Josh had a very good game too. At our best in the first half the half backs were good.
Bit dramatic.
The first half was largely encouraging if ill disciplined at times.
Second half was just messy and we got dragged into a game. Argentina were very poor in possession but some of their tackling was unreal. We are lacking a bit of structure at times in attack. Still trying to find our way post Sexton.
I reckon we will see a few players moved on/brought in after this series. I'm not worried in the medium to long term.
Argentina didnt show up for first half , but Ireland are flat and have been since WC .Pumas played the exciting rugby , Joe ball seams back, but I have always liked Prendergast , needs to be given the jesey and see if he can get back line firing . Ringrose also played well.
