It has been suggested quite a few times that racism and Islamophobia is a key driver in support for Israel in the west. Glance through the social media accounts of Israel supporters and you will invariably find openly racist comments about 'the so-called religion of peace', 'Muslim fanatics', 'Hamas' etc, often retweeting stuff from far right accounts.
I think it's more than that, in Ireland there is a very small number of Israeli groupies and IDF sluts , more often than not they are career contrarian anti social oddballs like Ian o Doherty or the mad professor in DCU ( Humphrys) , it's a sure fire way for garnering attention in Ireland as Irish people instinctively loathe the concept of land theft and expulsion

The vast majority of posters see what's happening is the Middle East for what it is. It's only the usual grouping of posters (with one or two outliers) who are desperately trying to stick to some sort of bizarre narrative whereby anything Israel does is "justified".
It looks like Israel has lost the support of public opinion in the west, particularly in recent months. The only ones still supporting them appear to be governments and the media in certain countries, who seem hugely (and quite bizarrely) compromised in their relationship with Israel.

It's at the root of it definately. Many seem to deny this reality. Just look at what some Arab leaders were saying about Jews back in the 1940's.
Most independence / revolutionary movements featured violence against the occupier or oppressor. Labelling them as "terrorists" doesn't really add much to the discussion (and in the case of the Israeli state being terrorists themselves, it becomes completely meaningless).
What's happening in Lebanon now lads? I haven't heard anything lately, has the war died down?

As regards Lebanon, the Israeli attacks continue - civilian structures are still on the cards, like hospitals, civic centres, rescue workers and so on. Standard fare for the IDF and standard procedures for a State intent on destroying everything around it in preparation for land grabs and annexations etc.
In other words, business as usual for the Genocide State.
