Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
everyone favourite act Picture This playing marquee in cork in June
Night and Day in Forest Park, Boyle June 2025
So maybe artists can work with one more than 1 promoter??? 👀👀🤔😂
Think that's 14 announced now so probably only a handful more to be announced. Seems to be starting a month later this year.
Extra d
ate for Primal Scream
Nadine Shah was very upfront as to why she didn't play and done a great job of laying out all the reasons why it's not worth it for smaller artists trying to make money.
I did say "nearly" every gig for that exact reason so it's hardly debunked...
Coldplay were certainly the exception this year. Even Taylor Swift had some resale tickets floating about as I knew a small number of people who got lucky albeit hers were available in much smaller quantities.
Saw Jack white announced quite an extensive US/Asia tour yesterday with dates in the EU/UK to follow,
Hopefully he does a show here not sure what would be the right venue for him though be class to see him in somewhere like the Olympia but who knows
Anyone else trying to get Spiritualized tickets?
Keep getting a timed out message!
Can smell the 3 arena for it already, and the next bout of discussion as to whether dublin needs a c.5k venue
working fine for me. Maybe try on a browser instead of app or vice versa
Yeah, worked on my phone. I think my job are trying to send me a message. Thanks
Too many gigs and not enough work the next day. 😴
I know ya was same with the Smile this year, it was curtained off but never seen the standing for the 3 so packed not sure what happened 😂😂
Too big for him i’d say, he is playing a mixture of venues but some are relatively small like the Salt Shed Chicago about 5,000, i’d be guessing Olympia for him if he does come here, or at some festivals
Is it the case (oft-rumoured here) of Ticketmaster buying the resale tickets at lower prices and flogging them to people at the standard prices? Thus lessening the availability of resale tickets. I'd expect exactly the same for Oasis as for Coldplay. I'm basing this on posts here rather than any knowledge but it makes sense.
Yea he's doing 3 nights in Toronto, 1 of the venues holds just over 2k and the other 2 nights are in a venue thanks about 2.7k per night.
They could use the rds like they did for pixies during the summer?
yeah they are booking shows again for the RDS simmonscourt for same time as this year. Late august ish
I’m obviously out of touch but wasn’t expecting Olivia Roderigo to be as successful as she obviously is . Daughter is devo , had presale codes yesterday , general sale sold out in seconds , nada . Promoters must be thinking a swap of venues with robbie Williams would be a better idea , plenty of presales available for him.
She's about to headline Glastonbury plus Hyde Park and has 49m monthly listeners on Spotify. Marlay is akin to an intimate warm-up for her.
I'm out of touch also but it seems she has done very well since going solo from playing with Gabriela :)
for sure , she probably could have filled Croker by sounds of things .
June/July is in the middle of GAA croke park silly season so would never work and she isn’t touring a stadium show yet. On her next album tour she will be deffo be touring stadiums across europe
No, I doubt it. If a gig is in demand, there is no reason for a seller to sell at lower than face value as they'll know they'll get their money back and they'll always try that first. People only tend to resell at lower prices if the gig isn't in demand or it's the day of the gig. And if it's not in demand and tickets are available, ticketmaster will want to shift their tickets first.
People tend to run to all sorts of nefarious conspiracies to explain why tickets are hard to come by. Bots, insider sales, holding back tickets, huge swathes of platinum tickets are the usual claims and whilst they may account for a tiny % of tickets, ultimately demand is the biggest reason tickets are hard to come by.
Second Dublin night for Ryan Adams, first one basically sold out, just a few scattered single seats in the stalls.
On sale Monday 9am.
If they are gonna use it late summer I don't see why they don't use it more regularly year round. I know if they've a few gigs in a row logistically it makes sense
One of her managers said she could have done stadiums on the tour just finished.
I’m a small bit surprised they didn’t go for the Aviva but I suppose Marlay makes more sense as she is play festivals in fields not a stadium tour.
Is 2nd night Marlay a possibility for her? would shift the tickets by the sound of it
I completely get it regarding demand and people unwilling to cancel major concert events. There’s also the possibility of selling on Coldplay tickets to friends who’d be delighted given the prominence those nights had. Not a discussion on lack of available tickets, that’s pretty clear, variety of reasons there as you say. Many of which are far from conspiracies. Many production and corporate tickets held back.
What I’d read here earlier this year were several posters reporting resale tickets they’d put on TM below cost price disappearing within a minute for events that were popular (though not with Coldplay-ish demand). Their take was that there wasn’t sufficient time for an interested party to get a notification of the tickets going up, then logging in and paying. Their belief was that TM was buying them back and re-selling and it made sense. So a ticket sold for €55 (incl fees) could be bought back by TM for €30 and then sold again for €55. Nothing illegal, but immoral if occurring. It’d not be the first sharp practice by TM but, as above, I don’t know if there’s any basis to it. Could be nonsense. Possibly not.
Announcement for Rewind Dublin & Cork coming Nov 18th at 10am
It's certainly a possibility but would probably have be the Monday depending on if she has a festival booked coming off that weekend.
It's under the thumb of Livenation and the Hyde Park tickets have gone just as quick they may choose to add extra there and probably can't the days after as she's at Glasto one of them.
