2.50/60 a kg depending on quality obviously
For dickie 10
Offered 5.60 flat for 3 aa heifer,6 aa bullocks and 1 he bullock..would lads think it a good throw?
all u30?
all u30 and qa
looking at a base of 515 so. Depends on the quality of stock- are they out of dairy or sucklers. Base of 525 and higher going this week. Most plants are quoting 5.20 but if you have numbers they will go up.
All bred out of fr cows..negotiated €5.65 in the end
You did very well. In all likelyhood you'd be into O's and minus 6 or 12 or 18 on the grid unless they were outstanding stock.
Sold 1 LM heifer in Kilkenny. She weighed 425kg and made €2.73 a kg.
5.30 base for a few bullocks tomorrow.
5.80 flat n transport combined of AA heifers n bullocks, only one trailer. The cartel is well exposed.
I was talking to a friend of mine down the south of the country that got the same earlier in the week alright.
Shower of bs, I fell out of two factories this year lots of harsh words. The best I ever did.
Folks fight like hell they need you more than you need them.
Passed 7 continental cattle export lorries on the way to Dublin yesterday, the live export trade is really killing the factories, they'll be screaming for cattle next year, whatever about the next few months
The processors need to start paying the ordinary finisher fast. Hallissey Livestock Exports is buying1500 cattle per week for export. Two boats a month are going out to North Africa with yearling/store type stock. One of his sons is buying the poorer quality 10 euro calf and they are going somewhere else. They are only one exporter. Pretty soon there will be 400k cattle and calves exported out of this country. One way to solve greenhouse gasses for us
Next year going to be very interesting, you will notice the lapdogs (procurement managers) develop manners akin to having gone to finishing school.
In your opinion what would be a fair price?
What was a 19 month old U= 3- 430kg bull worth last week??
30 cent behind the UK price
What is the uk price? I was talking to a man this evening and he reckons things will get a lot dearer, serious amount of stock exported and no sign of it slowing down as long as blue tongue doesn’t enter these shores
A very good poster that used to post a lot in this thread has a very dim view of the near future going by his posts on another forum.
Who?
At least €5.40 a kg. More if he had big numbers
6.70 this week for bullocks plus their kill numbers fell sharply. Giving Paddy farmer 5.20 and thinking they are making him up.
So where do you think prices will peak?
That is impossible to answer but it's going to be a very interesting 2025. I don't think it's really understood what's gone on boats and via Northern Ireland.
Nothing to back up what he is saying
Same as myself declaring beef will be €9 a kilo next year
My own feeling is that with declining kgs in carcass and big export markets for both live and dead cattle the floor should be in or around where we are now
Is that a typo? 6.70? Pounds?
Chatting to an agent this morning he said €6 flat is what Is currently been paid for Angus bullocks, cattle are scarce and with all the exports he can’t see it changing for the foreseeable future
Thats fair money, have pen of 9 AA bullocks to move in the next 10-14 day probably O+/O= 3+ stock..€6 flat be a serious price for them in my opinion
