I was following on RTE and noticed they omitted the part where Conor admitted to using cocaine. I mean, I know it's not exactly pertinent to the case but it's still a substantial thing to leave out of the coverage.
I’d argue it is quite pertinent to the case. It’s a mood altering drug, for one!! Can have plenty affects on one’s mind and body.

I dont think this is a men v women point of view. it is a young v old point of view. People my parents age would think if you go to a guys hotel you are clearly after sex but they are from a different era and more old fashioned, I wouldnt see things the same at all or most people my age, thankfully. you can often end up in a hotel room, air b&b, college house etc with members of the opposite sex but that doesnt mean anything, you may end up in bed together or you may not even have a kiss. it is victim blaming to say otherwise.
I don’t know a single woman that would have sex with a tampon inserted, I’d hope this is a key piece of information that will help her case.

It wasn't inserted it was wedged into the top of her cervix

I believe that the plaintiff fully believes everything she is saying is the truth and that McGregor is capable of it. But she was very drunk and can’t remember most of what happened that day, so maybe she is mis-remembering. Not sure how I’d vote if I was on the jury. Maybe his notoriety may count against him

In order for a tampon to get wedged at your cervix, you'd have to insert something (a vibrator or something) and wedge it up there yourself. You couldn't do it with a finger or an applicator. And while you can't feel a tampon if its inserted in the right place, I can tell you right now you'd painfully feel it if you pushed it so that it went sideways at your cervix. You'd also be at acute risk of toxic shock syndrome as the tampon would be in for more than eight hours. Finally, you'd find it very difficult to insert the tampon at all if you weren't on your period. You'd have to use lube to get it up there - and none of the reports mention lube being found on the tampon or inside her vagina.
Why - when your body is covered with bruises and you're alleging a rape - would you even contemplate doing that? Anyone who has ever had a smear test will tell you that having any instruments inserted to remove the tampon would be extremely uncomfortable.
It's like saying if someone was alleging that they were raped with a broken bottle "oh but they might have taken a knife to themselves and done the damage". Come on. Listen to yourselves.
