Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
I'm hoping that for Oasis but Coldplay this year in Croke Park debunked that
You'll nearly always pick up a resale ticket closer to a gig and the bigger it is, the better the chance. There'll always be some people who can't go leading upto the gig and will sell them on Ticketmaster or Toutless.
I presume Olivia Rodrigo will completely sell out tomorrow? Slim chance of picking up a resale ticket closer to the time at lower price do people think?
Live near Marlay and daughter slightly interested but not a superfan by any stretch
Pity he didn't do a random ballot like the Gallagher Brothers
Still loads of presale tickets left for Robbie at Croke Park, pitch and good seats there. I guess his new movie will help push tickets. I’d say that’s the plan.
Tate McRae for 3Arena - May 16th
I know ya, I'm over for the Deftones x Weezer gig on the 29th so I'll try and make a weekend of it and try and get the Linkin Park tickets, be some weekend of music,
Yeah they're really leaning on the hybrid theory meteora sound this comeback album
More bang for your buck at Werchter or Nova Rock.
They headlined the RDS with Qotsa and Coheed in 08 which was mentioned previously.
The new song is getting hype alright to me just sounds like something (hed) PE were doing years ago and not getting and quite the same hedway, lol.
Well, they also do festivals in europe, so could use an mcd stage in Marley.
Will try london or paris or other cities, but flights/hotels might be too pricey. Would be going with the whole family and pitch standing is off. I hate when other family members like your music sometimes...
Its nothing to do with the stage as they are playing multiple open field festivals in Europe.
Don't believe it's due to stage set up as they announced a mix of stadiums and festivals around Europe so they can cater to different venues. Similar to the Weekend and Motley Crue who did mostly stadiums but played Marlay Park.
It would be worth the trip to Wembley to see them, it's a shame alright no stop here but we were only saying it yesterday where would ya even put them? 3Arena too small, RDS not available, Marlay Park wouldn't suit with the stage layout and Thomond Park would take a lot of convincing, have they ever played here bar the support slot with Metallica donkeys years ago?
I'll try and make a weekend out if it as it lies on the same weekend as the Deftones gig, it's some comeback in fairness the new song they released last night is great as well
Ah such a pity
Maybe the stage only suits a certain type of Stadium/Area
Maybe in 2026 or beyond who knows
Seathrun has been a very good member across multiple gigs threads for as long as I can remember….
I mentioned Weezer as a Glasto possibility given the dates, nothing more. I didn't seek a discussion on it and I've twice asked the other poster to move thread. PM also fine. As per my last post twenty mins ago I'll not comment on it further here.
Seathrun and Fanirish can ye not take it to PMs? Constantly derailing the thread with yer pissing contests
I knew once I saw the stage setup when I saw them at the O2 not a hope there would be anywhere for them to play here realistically,
I'm over there for Deftones on the 29th so I'll be definitely trying to get tickets again for them would be a weekend and a half Linkin park and Jpegmafia on the Saturday and Deftones and Weezer on the sunday
Why continue here rather than on the Glasto thread? You're aware that people on that thread know the festival well whereas you've consistently peddled misinformation about it, particularly in terms of attendance numbers and finances.
You introduced Pay to Play in regard to Weezer. What's the relevance to them? None, hence you refer to tangential artists.
Artists accept lower fees to play Glasto as it's a not-for-profit festival with and money made going to three significant national charities and a few dozen smaller local ones. Artists don't pay to play Glastonbury so don't peddle lies. We already have enough of those on the net.
(my last post re Weezer here - wrong thread, I'd just briefly mentioned them as a possibility for Glasto given the dates).
Shame, caught them in London in September, they were absolutely phenomenal
That's a shame
No Linkin Park in Dublin
LP tour announced, Wembley stadium - June 28th with Spiritbox & JPEGMAFIA
as well documented in numerous interviews/online critiques with artists like nadine shah and grace Petrie this year and even Emily eavis herself admits it that Glastonbury only pays a pittance, anywhere between 10-20% of an artists normal fee/festival fee. Glastonbury is a pay to play festival as close to no one especially bands are breaking even on it and have to pay out of their own pocket to play it. for the reasons you’ve mentioned artists/bands take the hit playing Glastonbury as they may deem the upsides of tv coverage, hype, new audience or just fancy going to Glastonbury as worth it and cover the loss from another festival or show.
They may play, they may not, but two days off over Glasto weekend makes it more likely than not. Many factors to be included - prestige booking for them, big TV audience, hype, record sales boost, future ticket sales uplift, etc. And pay to play for Weezer? Best of luck explaining that.
(better on the Glasto page if continuing).
Absolutely. I remember the Eagles playing London twice on Glasto weekend and the rumour mill going wild, plenty of other acts too. But usually it means Glasto. Is there any doubt now that Olivia Rodrigo is playing? Alanis Morisette & Libertines also likely. I'd say Weezer are more likely than not, but no great stakes for me in it, a band I'd not pay to see but happily catch at this or another fest.
I’m not privy to weezer touring schedule but a complicated routing that weekend, sub headlining download and deftones London show, they don’t overstock their schedule and fact that glasto is a pay to play festival doesn’t bode well for them to play it.
Every year several mid-level bands play within 100km of Glastonbury on the days around it, and don't end up playing it. Weezer might, but a band with a London gig 1/2/3 days before/after has regularly not translated into Glastonbury.
With Download, London and Halifax appearances within 10 days of Glasto, I'd say there's at best a 5% chance that they appear. Highly unlikely though. Probably happy to take an increased fee from Download for a festival exclusivity clause.
Doubt they'd play Glasto if there playing Download
They ain't playing Glasto then - I'll take that as set in stone. May I add that to your consistently inconsistent flip-flopping list of predictions for the past couple of Picnics?
Glastonbury though, probably the most prestigious festival on the planet. Bands make an awful lot of effort to be there. U2 interrupted the American leg of their 360 tour to be there. Flew from Baltimore after a gig and then back to East Lansing the day after the Somerset gig. It's also a shorter set and possibly an early evening Saturday set so back in London to rest on the Sunday before the Deftones support slot. Honestly, who knows but I'd say that Glasto more likely than not.
