I guess the show needs it's own thread. The plan is that Oliver Callen, Brendan Courtney and couple of other tba hosts will do it will into the winter. It very much looks like the vacancy is left open for Tubs to return.
Gayness levels about to rocket.
Dog story, bit of gossip about celebs, more talk of his dog.
Has blended into the wallpaper already. Dial turned.
Wish someone would tell Brendan it's WhatsApp, not WhatsUpp
Bedtime routine, shower, washed sheets, blackout blinds, spritz of lavender.....gayness levels up to 11 this morning.
To be fair, no mention of his dog ... yet.
strong bang of lavender about that slot Mr N.😲
RTE star Oliver Callan has said he wants more money to host his radio show when he negotiates his contract next year. The comedian replaced Ryan Tubridy last year in the coveted morning show slot after Tubridy left RTE amid the payments scandal.

He's on 150k for a one hour radio programme and it's still not enough for him. Tell him to go whistle for himself.
Good call Mr H… lad should be told to shut the door after him with that carry on.
John Q Taxpayer bailed out this bunch of Chancers so let’s not go down this road again.
The Little Corporal seems to have gotten a foothold in that establishment again.
Callans Kicks is not included in that 150k. He can go and sh1te.
Brendan standing in for Oliver.
First discussion, dogs.
Off again.
I caught the last segment this morning. It was a bit much, I am all for hearing different voices and accents on the radio. But it was pretty vapid.
His intro the morning sounded like he was talking to a few people and he was just picking up the chat from the last time he was on. Thank goodness they didn't plump for him, belongs on late evening radio rather than a prime slot. Spun the dial.
Not sure he belongs on late evening radio either?
I went back and listened to his monolouge and I don't quite understand what you are saying. Would you mind explaining.
This dude does not want to be on the radio.
This interview with Aiden Gillen is painful - the guy does not want to be there
And is finding the questions very awkward - I actually feel bad for Oliver.
Not sure why Aiden agreed to do this interview - only to promote the charity carol singing concert
He called Camiles daughter his stepdaughter. Did they finally marry.
The self reverence is oozing out of Gillen.
Someone pull the plug on this and put us all out of misery.
I have to say I can't blame Callan for the state of that interview - he really did try!
I have absolutely no idea what that guy had to say. Between his accent and the mumbling. I am sure he has an amazing story. But I have no idea what it was.
@AndrewJRenko Patrick Kielty is very well known in the UK, I don't think he needs The Late Late Show to be honest.
I was trying to explain this to RTÉ in Cardiff a few months back.
They don't really understand that they hold on to presenters for years and rarely support any presenters moving up through the ranks (Tubs may actually be the exception to that rule).
Keilty was a last minute job because all of the usual suspects (Miriam, Claire, Joe, Ray) all refused to take the place of Tubs.
I'd argue in fairness to Keilty he wanted the job, and as his well know at home and in the UK it made sense.
Anyway in trying to ask this question they explained it away with their summer schedule of 2FM presenters and how they had grown on the digital station …. they didn't last too long …. and the digital radio stations are to be axed.
Time that 'cartel' in RTE was broken up.
I see that Mishal Hussain has departed the Today show on BBC4 to go to Bloomberg.
Fat chance of the lifers in RTE 'talent' risking that.
I predict a F-Bomb this morning. BP has a habit off dropping them during interviews.
BINGO!! 🤣
Is solo travel really that strange?
Interesting interview with Dunphy this am.
Interesting in how Dunphy seems to portray himself as a left winger politically yet kow-towed with the greatest chancers of them all PJ Mara, Gerry Ryan, the RTE illuminati and the movers and shakers who eventually destroyed the country back in the day.
Seems to be quite a strange juxtaposition of outlooks to this poster.
Started listing and then got me thinking
Radio Ireland (the lovely Moya Doherty) → The Last Word → Navan Man (Stephen Price and Stuart Carolan)
TV3 → Commissing Editor → Jane Gogan → The Dunphy Show → RTÉ's Head of Drama → Love/Hate (Stephen Price and Stuart Carolan)
Circles though in fairness to Jane she was the last Head of Drama to fully commission something from RTÉ Love/Hate which because of Kin has been give a new lease of life in other territories.
Remember BBC 4 used to do comedy connections, someone in Ireland should do "Your Having a Laugh, Irish Connections"
The Monaghan man going from strength to strength.
This latest release of JNLRs marks the first full year of figures for Oliver Callan in the 9am - 10am slot on RTÉ Radio 1, and his numbers are on the rise. A total of 349,000 radio fans are tuning in after the school run, up by 11,000 since the last announcement in November.
When I heard he was going to be interviewing a former politician Joe McHugh from a party he has sent up many times, I did wonder how it would go. Turned out to be a very good and informative interview.
