The economy is booming. It's a bit like the 2002 and 2007 elections over again. Parties have to outbid each other to get elected.
Large parts of council areas in Dublin that politicians just won't canvass.
Aren't Labour only projected to win 5 or 6 seats? Them or the Soc Dems could be the third leg in a FFG govt, if FFG need the extra seats to get them over the line.
FG are predicted the most seats. Somewhere between 42 & 50.
Imo they will need a lot more than 5 or 6 seats to get them over the line.
I can see them having approx 70 between them
And he clearly doesn't understand what a manifesto is, how the government/country works or how to evaluate how effective a political party has been over a Dáil term.
Most polls are predicting them at 80 to 90 combined.
Just finished watching last nights debate.
I thought POD wanted to be anywhere but on that debate. Committed a huge error by getting one of the audience’s name wrong ( granted when it was pointed out to him he profusely apologised ).
DOB. What a shambolic performance. His arrogance was indescribable. EOB I thought did okay. RH was okay, nothing exceptional though. IB not convincing. RBB I thought was the star performer. Didn’t interrupt much compared to others ( IB also conducted herself). He made his point clearly.
I’m not affiliated to any party, just my own impressions of the debate. Quite surprised there was no Green representative on the panel.
These the same polls that told us the referendums would pass easily
I believe she isn't doing much door to door. Instead trying to get volume by hanging around outside shops, post offices, pubs, sports matches etc
Referendums are much harder to predict. The GE predictions are usually pretty accurate in fairness. But there is a margin of error of course.
FG’s slide will start with the next poll or two,down to 20% again or less by voting day.
SF will strengthen between now and then,they are running a good campaign.
Just had a look at Boylesports betting. They don't have betting in all constituencies, just 72 seats, but if the odds are reflected to them 72 seats

They could have gotten a lot of their climate and transport policies across the line since those were major portfolios held by the Greens

James Lawless called to the door earlier. Very pleasant. I told him he was getting my number 1 and I jokingly encouraged him to please stay away from the Greens if they form the next government. He asked who else had been canvassing around the area and was surprised when I told him Soc Dems only.
Reading through his literature, I hadn’t realised how academically qualified he is.

FF are the only viable option imo. Have historically voted FF going back to the days of Charlie O’Connor so they’ll get my 1 and soc dems 2
