I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
What has she done?
From relations in Galway. She has ruined her campaign over the past week and even Éamon Ó Cuív has distanced himself from her
I thought Seoige would hoover up O'Cuivs votes and take a seat but after talking to friends who are canvassing, I am not so sure. Very interesting but I think she will struggle. She will win the prize for most posters.
Word from who/what,the other FF candidate is not at the races, the FF seat in GW will go to Seoige.
Aside from this clanger, I’d say Donnolly’s seat is in serious trouble.
As expected, not going down well. The ability of the likes of Burke to shoot the party in the foot should not be underestimated.
Word is she is done in Galway and even Éamon Ó Cuív is now campaigning with the other FF candidate
Seoige has made a number of such errors in last few weeks. You'd never know that FF are in power
I’ll be voting them back in (or at least FF) because it suits me. I don’t care about social issues. I care about money in my back pocket. I work for a large American pharma company and an SF government would be disastrous for that. I bought my own apartment this year so the price of them does not bother me at all (not that I think any party could affect change in that area anyway)
Another LOL moment as the celeb candidate commits a huge gaff.
But we want these people, that's why we elect them to represent us 😊
A pointless Election where the same lazy freeloaders will be re-elected, to not sit in Leinster House….
A FF/FG merger would cause at least two splinter parties, a continuation FF and a continuation FG; who knows where the bloc FF múinteoir vote would go then!
(could easily lead to a centrist/barely centre left continuation FF and a rural right continuation FF at that)
Might be votes lost in the future as FG are open to a FG/FF merger
Micheal will be all for it, FF members might not be happy
Virtually all teachers I've ever known the politics of are FF voters through and through, excepting those who were actually FG or Labour politicians. Don't think there's many votes to be lost there.
Way to go in losing any chance of votes from teachers, FG. Or teacher's partners. Or teachers mammys and daddys.
I’m watching TWIP. The promises coming out of the politicians mouths is mind boggling. All those leaves falling off the trees must be gold lined.
EDIT: gosh but that Jennifer Carroll McNeill comes across as incredibly arrogant.
First LOL moment of the campaign. Here's hoping they keep this up.
Is this the same Soc Dems who either lied over the contactless ticketing tender or were too thick to understand it (likely the latter with them).

There were over 15k government schemes homes completed in 2023 so I’m curious on what specifics she was calling out here?
Deary me Harry, have you normalised that for pipeline AND seasonality? I suspect not, but I’d like you to give me a bit more analysis here (and no, an Indo article on us being a couple of hundred homes shy of last year at this stage does not suffice). Harris with his 40k was moronic (not unsurprising for him) but it is likely we will again beat last year.
You know we exceeded the targets last year and built the most per head in Europe, right?
Watching VM for the news this morning, one of the Sunday papers says FF & FG are looking to Labour as possible 3rd party in a potential coalition. They must think Labour are going to get the number of seats to push FFG over the line. I had to look at my calendar to make sure it’s not April 1.
A portion of sinn fein vote has gone right wing, I only see another ff/fg coalition with independents, not sure they even need a minority party this time. It's on SF there isn't a viable alternative again.
50k over what period?
And what were those targets? If they missed them, you need to state them.
Holly Cairns skewered Martin re the number of affordable homes built on the last day of the Dail. She had all the data and Martin refused to answer her questions. He was actually embarrassing himself because we repeated the question and he avoided it. Floundered completely. They have failed the affordable houses target significantly and he knew it but couldn't admit it. They had promised 50,000 and delivered 1000.
Apologies, they have missed every social and affordable housing target in every year of this Govt but then again the people relying on this type housing don't usually vote FG so they couldn't care less
That's not true.
2022 the target was 24,600 and 29,800 were built.
2023 the target was 29,000 and 32,695 were built.
2024 the target is 33,000 and will probably be reached.
They have committed to them all right. They have failed to reach their housing targets for every year of this Govt
Why should we trust them now?
I suppose my point was being how credible Sinn Fein are with their promises and how one note they are with everything.
Their housing plan is 300,000 dwellings in five years. That is 170 odd houses a day. Given there has been no mention of labour or land needed it would border on fictitious.
I'd love to be proven wrong.
you don't think the country is better than 100 years ago? It's way, way better both in absolute terms and relative to pretty much every country in the world
