Just check condition and build quality. Battery and drivetrain still under warranty assuming. Mileage based.
Thanks, any benefit going through Tesla themselves? I assume most 3rd party dealers will also come with a 1yr Vehicle warranty on top of the Battery and Drive Train
I would not assume that, minimum is 3month AFAIR
No. Independant dealers generally only cover engine/gearbox. So theres no reason they would offer any additional warranty over what the manufacturer already covers.
More expensive is one. But always check as every now and again they pop up with a decent deal.
Check Graham Walker Cars in Harold’s Cross or Vector Motors in Clonskeagh.
If your buying a 19/20 car, then the remainder 8 year Tesla warranty is what you’ll get. As for the general warranty, depends on the dealer. Some only give 3 months.
How long is the charger cable that comes with the car?
My home charger is at the side of the house and I just realised that charger is on the back left of the Tesla so hoping it would be long enough to reach.
I think 7.5m but you can buy longer ones if required (not from Tesla)
EDIT to put in correct length
good to know, thanks for the reply.
Anyone having phone calls just hang after you call someone and it goes to voice mail. Has happened to me at least ten times in the last month but only when it goes to voice mail and I try to hang up. Can't switch to radio or spotify and the only thing that will work is holding the two scroll buttons and resetting the display.
The cable length I have always received (3 Teslas) is 7.5m
ah perfect, that would reach. Appreciate the response.
I thought the cable was an optional extra now?
The UMC is an extra a.k.a. the Granny lead
so a new model 3 comes with a type 2 cable?
I was told yes when ordering.
Yes yes yes
recent orders had the type 2 and UMC

Here is a pointer that may apply to some here. I got a (suspension) repair on my company car Model 3 done in Tesla Belfast last year (happened to suit for a variety of reasons). I don't do much GB&NI work so not very familiar with VAT situation - when I submitted receipt to HMRC for VAT refund, they told me Tesla should not have charged VAT on the repair. The amount of money in question is probably not worth chasing down Tesla black holes, but for anyone else getting ROI company car repaired in Belfast, I recommend making sure VAT is not applied to bill.
VAT is a complex law and Tax Authorities don't always get it right, I know because I've had to "fight" them.
In this case the activity took place in NI so VAT is applicable and you can claim it back from a company perspective but it depends is the company in question active in NI or not. Telsa paid the VAT over so it's there.
upper control arms.
Mileage around 45,000 - 55,000 km?
So a type 2 will allow it to plug into all public chargers as such?
What does a UMC needed for?
Type 2 cable is used for AC charging 1-11kW
For DC (fast charging) the cable is always attached to the charger.
UMC is your last chance saloon and will plug into any standard 3 pin socket. (Visiting relatives, on holiday etc…)
The 3 pin allows charging at 13 amps, but with commando adaptors (sold separately by Tesla) you can get 16/32a out of the UMC
Type 2 will be used at home with your home charger (if you go untethered). Type 2 will allow you to use all the public AC chargers in the likes of Aldi, Lidl, shopping centres etc
UMC is the granny charger (3 pin). Basically if your away from home and stuck and have access to a 3 pin socket. It only charges at 10a compared to 32a of the Type 2.
Gotcha. Went tethered at home.
Fokearn BG sync. Being installed next week.
you can get 32a out of a UMC with the below adaptor and adequate supply
can you still do that on the newer UMc’s?
I done it for a year with my original 2014 MS one alright.
make sure you’re getting the latest discount.
Yep, I use one for my Highland for 7kW work charging, the current UMC is exact same as has been a year or so. That reminds me, I still have my UMC1 32a commando adapter as a paper weight
hmmmm a little more, but they are Dublin based it seems so I won’t fall out with them if I am happy with the job.
