Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
You wot mate? /s
wont be him, he's touring in Mexico atm
Ffs PTH! Don't start that again!😉
Maybe its Inhaler
McCartney probably could.
2 nights in marlay in 2023 as well, I could see him shifting 60-65k easily.
I reckon you are right. He sold out multiple nights in Thomond Park in Limerick, I'd say that'll give promotors enough confidence to chance a croker show.
Hozier sold out Marlay Park pretty easily last year also. Can't see him doing a stadium that big but in fairness The Script played Croker before so who the hell knows.
I can't imagine any international acts flying in for a press conference.
Hopefully not
Would Dermot Kennedy be brave enough to try croker?
would the stones come and do a press conference before it though? They didn’t do anything like that for the last Croke park show
Doesn’t really change what I said, I’d easily say Weezer are at least as big as plenty of bands who have played much bigger venues than Trinity in the past year.
I’m half hoping MCD give away tickets tomorrow
Stones?
weezer I’d say.
I agree but besides U2 I’m not sure of who else it could be that is capable of filling Croke park and is planning to tour next year
U2 would fill multiple Croke Parks I reckon
There’s a Croke park gig being announced Monday afternoon with the artist in attendance to do a press conference with the announcement. Who do you think it will be?
My money is on U2 but not sure who else is touring next year that could fill Croke park
All the top sections are curtained off, so it's only about 8k capacity. And it's for an Antics 20th anniversary set, last year was just a general one.
And as mentioned, even at a reduced capacity 3Arena, they haven't sold out, still loads of tickets left, including Standing.
As for Weezer, they'd probably do 3-4k I'd guess. Wouldn't sell out Trinity.
I'd be a casual fan and went along to Smashing Pumpkins partly because they were supporting. I wouldn't bother buying a ticket to their own gig. I'd imagine there's plenty of people who went to that gig partly because they've never seen Weezer, have now ticked that off the list (and saw them playing all the hits) , and probably wouldn't bother paying 70quid to see them at their own gig.
Was sure that Ward Park would have been them. There's talk of the Let's Rock festival coming back to Ward Park this year but that would be around the start of August.
I'd say Interpol with be half full tomorrow night. I'll be happy enough I can get closer to the stage easier!
Iirc Interpol didn’t sell out Trinity last year and they’re playing in 3 Arena tomorrow evening.
Course Weezer would do well at Trinity, no proper headline show here since ‘05, they’d a have a reasonable fan base anyway and they have played to plenty of new fans recently too.
nah they wouldn’t even manage two sold out olympia or vicars. biggest headline show here was tripod when they were at the height of popularity
Also not the greatest of live bands (at least not outdoors where I’ve seen them twice) and possibly a lesser outfit with Gerard Smith gone. Can’t see demand being huge here either (would they sell out Trinity or Iveagh? I’m not convinced) so understandable why promoters may not take the risk. Would love to see them in a festival tent but ain’t happening here in 2025.
tv on radio looking for crazy money to play. Think London will be closest show to ireland
I'd say unlikely 3 years running, but would like to see Barry back at ATN again next year.
Confidence Man will probably be back on Main Stage I reckon.
Confidence Man and more added to Barry Can't Swim show for All Points East, probably appear at some festival again next summer
90 euro for a ticket for Roy.
Thats a ridiculous price.
Not sure I'd see Bloc Party back so soon but know they're playing some festivals in UK so unless they'd pop up at ATN or EP say
Where will TV on the radio play in Ireland? Do we reckon it happens
Bonus question, bloc party in Ireland in 2025?
it’s not taking a night away, all the music acts have been locked in for ages or the nights held
;)
It's a front for an Independence rally.
