What you are struggling up hill against is that its fairly public knowledge that the Maccabi fans acted like pricks in a foreign city. They might get away with that in the west bank pretending they are the master race, but they got a reality check. And that is all - just a few bruises. People who were at the game and on the streets in Amsterdam are strongly refuting these claims by the police and the mayor and saying it is giving nowhere near a full picture of what actually happened (and apparently the aggressive and provocative behaviour of Maccabi fans in the city on Wednesday evening may well have acted as a touch paper for the events last night).

It must be the first time ever that the media has been celebrating football hooliganism.
