He recorded the conversation. There’s no suggestion to say she knew this or staged this conversation . 6 years later and this woman is still fighting. I think it’s absurd to think this was in any way planned. The most damning evidence in my view is how she was when being interviewed by gardai, checked on by medical people, treated by medical people in the sexual assault unit. And you think all this was some planned shakedown? She has refused to be bought off.

We live in a dangerous world whereby some think that guilt should automatically assumed before it is proven. To me i dont think there is enough evidence to support the womans accusations. Obviously in a civil trial the burden of proof isnt as high as criminal.

l think the reason it originally didn't go to court was she texted her boyfriend the next day and said shes ok and had a good night , l probably have the details of the exact text wrong but that was the jest of the text .
having read the details from the court so far l'd be very surprised if she's lying .

if people don’t believe her then it’s a case of A: I don’t believe her AND this means she’s an extremely nasty piece of work, or B: they don’t believe her BUT think that maybe she believes it happened, but has simply got it wrong..
I find it very difficult to think scenario A, after reading up, knowing how long this has been going on etc. Her version and story and the whole situation comes across very credible, even if the defence will do what they can to rip her version to pieces

Lying through her teeth. A tampon being up in the vagina lost is not evidence of rape. The DPP didnt take this case for good reason. Lying left right and centre, cheating on her boyfriend then telling him to **** off when he started to discover the truth.
Its clear as day Farrell is setting her up for a big loss next week with her admissions. Other witnesses will tell the real truth. All this I forget, I dont remember, thats not me. Complete BS.

A lot of rape cases are he said she said, but this case has other evidence presented. Physical evidence, although not a guarantee that a rape occurred, can be damning, and add in other evidence such as what has been presented here, and it can be easier to come to a conclusion.
I’d consider myself fairly logical and balanced, and reading the defence’s stance vs her story and her evidence, I really think she is telling the truth about her being assaulted/raped.
I agree here. He played the 'buy you off' card and she passed it up. While not something for the jury to consider, a gold digger would have taken the cash.

I think far too much focus is on details that don’t actually disprove her allegation. She lied to boyfriend, seen maybe being affectionate to Lawrence etc etc.. of course the defence will latch onto this to try portray her as unreliable, willing etc.. it doesn’t at all mean that what happened to her when with McGregor didn’t happen.
A rape victim does NOT have to run away screaming in terror for it to be deemed her raped. It doesn’t always happen like this. Lot of emotions, responses, confusions can happen. Similar to why she didn’t she say stop, fight, scream for help.. it’s not that easy; it’s not that black and white

Well, Exactly. Many victims go through years of abuse before disclosing the abuse. Many rape victims don't disclose at all. It's a very difficult offence to prosecute criminally. You would have to give her credit for sticking to her principles and trying to make a point.
Yes, I know this. But when you factor in other fairly convincing evidence (medical, Garda interviews, gynaecologist exam), the kind of red herrings thrown in become less meaningful
She admits that she was drugged up , and on the tape was shown to be very drunk and out of it which is another 'reason' why she was unable to resist / run off
