The ex leader of the National Party has now created a new political party. The name of it is Clann Eireann and you can guess their principles.
Mod: right folks - despite the humorous topic, we need to post within the forum rules! No one-liners, memes, link dumps etc.
Can we please, please just not make an exception to the rules just this once, just for little Justin. I mean, he is so little and it is such fun!
Killed the fun anyway.
Mod: Thread moved to the CA forum - note CA Charter now applies.
This thread is now in the CA forum so now you can go to town
I hate Illinois Nazis.
A “meeting” of the national directorate of the right-wing National Party to remove Justin Barrett as party leader was attended by only one person, the party’s deputy leader James Reynolds, the Electoral Commission has disclosed in a ruling on a dispute between both men over the party’s official registration.

This came straight to mind
Cheap after-meeting drinks then, eh!
Glad the Electoral Commission turned up with notebook in hand to validate it and provide this level of amusement for us.
I note that the National Party's best chance of winning a seat has copped herself on decided to not run, days after she made the strange decision to stand in the GE as a NP candidate...

A lifetime of hurt endured by Antoinette.
She has made the right decision.
You could only assume that she couldn't fulfill the requirements of the NP hairstyle. There's a particular side-combed look that I can't quite put my finger on in terms of historical references…
Some interesting background on the fella that you rate very highly.
Bet he still managed to have a few arguments at the meeting.
After all the good work Keegan has done for the Stardust victims over the years, I was really very surprised to see her opting to stand for Litler's (former?) party though. Not quite sure what came over her tbh!
Antoinette was injured in the Stardust fire and two of her sisters died that night.
She has given her life to the victims and their families.
She has admitted to making an error of judgement about the NP.
I am prepared to cut her some slack and wish her all the best for the future.
I read this article several times a year. The Gript grifter. A spoofer of the highest order.
Sounds like she smelled an opportunity and now sees that she won't be going anywhere.
Or maybe she got enough backlash to realize it isn't the correct move. Would love to know why she picked them.
She really should have done the most basic bit of research before hopping on board with a bunch of fascists and racists.
Unless of course she was actually OK with that sort of thing until the backlash from family and friends arrived.
Either way, not good, not good at all.
They picked her, according to her most recent update.
I'd guess she walked into something without doing any serious research.
He'd love a little tank 😀
Would that make him a little tanker?
I think that's a bit of a cop out. It's well known what sort of party they are, there would have to have been some sort of sympathies on her part with the party - why else would there have been any connection?
"In recent days, I was approached by the National Party who wished to support me in my nomination to run for election".
Egg on their face either way.
What I find intresting about the whole distaste of McGurk/Gript stance is this, why can't one separate him from the questions their reporter asks politicians? I do.
To put a finer point on it I actually don't give a jolly fcuk whos at the helm. The biggest grifters in this banana rep are the politicans and the soft ear and easy ride our media give them. I have a diametrically opossed opinion on the ME to gript and McGurk and differ on many other stances, for instances I'll never hear scallan ask sneaky snake pascal o'donoghue about his phone call and promises to Israelis regards the occupied territories bill but I still merit the questions they do ask. They and a select few are the sole voice against the grain and we need more of that.
Seeing them gurn as scallan asks Inconvenient (for them) questions is well overdue here.
There's only one reason why someone would not be prepared to merit the questioning gript puts to politicians and that's because they see nothing wrong with how our country is being governed and the direction it's headed. Many people do not share this stance so get used to challenging questions and differing opinions is my advice to you.
Without a vocal representation of both sides of the political demographic you give the opportunity to the likes of Justin Barrett to spawn and that's far from ideal now is it.
He's so weird. Whenever I see that video it always makes me think of this 🤔
The questions Ben actually asks, or the ones he whispers into a switched-off microphone after a press con finishes so he can claim he's being ignored?
Lets start with the ones he asks that the respondents wish they weren't asked because they thought they had the media in their pocket. Start there.
You sound like one of those folk who wished they weren't asked because you're happy with the cozy relationship they have with the media. Suits your agenda perhaps?
Gript is much more agenda driven than anything or anyone else so maybe start there. It was specifically set up by the so-called "pro-life campaign" to provide it with a suitably biased medium - and they even said this before it was set up.
