I think it will be FF/FG again with god knows who. Hopefully a left wing party
It will be November 15th
You asked what they are likely to do.
The approach I outlined would be normal Dail procedure. All the government need to do is stick to that. Events take care of the rest.
And I don't think anyone who is likely to vote FF or FG is that interested anyway.
Arnt you a Green Party supporter?
They were all for this bill 5 years ago. What's changed? 20,000 kids dead and they seemed to have went off the bill
sinn fein slow off the mark today only FG posters up this morning in sw donegal
He's busy looking for his oul speeding tickets.
It's a bit like the 2015 Public Sector Standards bill. In review for the last 9 years. It was drafted to help reduce waste and corruption and provide for more accountability. Shelved...
Simons on the telly saying he's requesting the dissolution of the Dail.
Tell 'im to get orf de box!
A party political broadcast on behalf of FG and the obligatory mention of Gaza.
I vote Green, because I believe that the climate challenge is the biggest one facing the country, and they are the party most serious about it. That doesn't mean I agree with all of their policies.
On any of those online tests that you see for picking a political party, they are nearly always up there for me, but no party gets more than 65%.
What's changed is that sometimes you have to compromise on some stuff when you're the junior member of a coalition government. That's life.
What's Fianna Fails excuse?
Fact is FF and the Greens support Israel because if they didn't, they would have demanded action was taking against them
Funnily enough, putting 'fact is' in front of your opinion doesn't make it a fact.
You don't have to support Israel not to take action, you just have to be mindful of Ireland's interests.
What difference would such an Act make in practice? Zero effect on the war in Gaza, but more probably, make US firms reconsider investment in Ireland. No wonder Padre Pio got such an Irish following, we love the self-flaggelation for no reason.
Well the Friends of Israel group in the Oireachtas is made up of mostly FF and FG members, so yes I'd say
Then why won't the Govt just say that?
Instead they bang on about taking
There are plenty of "Israel" threads open in CA, i'm not sure the contributors to this thread have much care to drag the conversation of our upcoming elections in to more of the same
Politics my friend, politics.
Do you really think the likes of PBP and others care about Palestine, or just want to virtue signal?
Between the PBP and all the others on the left of Irish politics, it’s not really a shock there'll likely never be a left wing government in Ireland. They can’t even agree on a name ffs. And then you have the soc dems and labour ignoring the obvious amalgamation that should have happened. Add to that SF doing their level best to self implode the last few weeks. It’s no wonder ff and FG likely will get in again in three weeks, because the alternative is a mess.
Considering Boyd Barrett lived there for a while helping the people of Gaza as have many members of SF, yes I'd say they care
i'm 43 and never voted and no intention of voting
couldn't give 2 hoots who get's in and don't care where my vote goes too
this country has never done good by the people , no matter who is in charge the joe soap get's robbed and false promises
Thanks for adding a bit more weight to my vote, much appreciated.
You sound like a bundle of laughs, anyway, hopefully you don't get sick, or rely on the state if you lose your job etc etc
I'll gripe about many things the government do or don't do for that matter, but to say this or any government has never done good for the people is nonsense
If you choose not to vote then you automatically forefit the right to complain about the running of the country!
Edgy
They don't really, they only care for the photo opportunities.
Have you ever heard them complain about the way that women are treated by Hamas, it is worse than the Saudis?
Photos like this one are the ones we will seeing plenty of over the next few weeks
They don't really care, new energy indeed
I tend not to vote based on a photo, I tend to vote based on policies.
Me too that's why I'm not voting for the party who's housing policy has let us to a 400% increase in homelessness since they entered Govt
While your political bias is your own business could you at least try to be accurate. Ref's were March 8. Matt Carthy ruled out rerunning Ref's on March 11...
Let's be clear, she made the commitment to rerun the referenda well before the referendum date.
Spinning the date of the referendum as the date she said she would rerun them is political bias on display.

Here is a report of her announcement on 20 February, not sure if that is the first time she announced it, but we will give her that, we can also give her Matt Carthy as the date, but she didn't confirm it for another few days.
In conclusion, the gap was closer to my month, than to your three days.
