Just want to see if they do something good with armored core. Couldn't care less about the rest.
I've ignored every headline and tweet for this game for so long because I kept thinking it was the Indiana Jones game.
New trailer for Secret Level
Rise of the Golden Idol out now for fans of Case… and detective games in general.
Played through the first chapter last night and definitely a step up in ambition and presentation compared to the first. Some nice streamlining, including end of chapter summaries you must complete to progress (very handy to ensure you’ve sussed out the overarching story). Some of the interface seems finicky as there’s more information and objectives to juggle. But overall a very solid sequel so far.
Got EA Play for a month to try Jedi Survivor.
Renting games, almost like Xtravision never went away!
Made a fatal, amateur error and finally got around to booting up Slay the Spire.
The Balatro spiral begins again…
I like the Witcher 3, it's good, and I'll definitely go back to it. But I'm taking a turn based RPG detour.
The Witcher 3 is a brilliant game. Mind you when I started it years ago I wasn't feeling it and left it for a few years and then I just said I should go back to that game and try it again and I was glad I did as I got hooked. Mind you I picked up where I had left it in some cave and had forgotting all the controls but I figured it out.
Tell me about it ... I've left Witcher 3 and moved to Super Mario RPG. 😁
And yet we still haven't moved away from the open world design of assassins creed from 2007 😜
It's incredible how far we've come in 50 years, and people take this stuff for granted and as throwaway stuff. Even in the 90s it would take Pixar and a load of very expensive computing equipment days to render a frame.
What's even more amazing is that we devised a lot of the maths, physics and algorithms to render images that looks like real life, even before the technology was available.
I thought there was no need for this remaster, I still do, but it does look very pretty.
I'm such a graphics slut.
Is that your regular friends or your nerdiest friends 😁
Thinking I'll get Persona 5 Royal especially if I see it on sale. Not sure whether to get the PS5 or Switch version.
Or maybe Baldur's Gate 3.
It also takes **** ages until it lets your friends join in in the remake.
It was a third party not Nintendo that developed it. Nintendo aren't letting them have access to their internal engines. Even if they did they would need to teach the developer how to use their internal engine which would increase timelines and cost. I think the blame here is Artepiazza, although Grezzo's Zelda games have been really poor as well and there's not much excuse for that when they are hardly cutting edge games.
Nintendo kind of have to go third party now to keep up with releasing games but their partners really haven't been able to match the internal teams.
Switch Super Mario RPG is stuttery at times with janky movement. Really, for a very simple game graphically with nothing much happening on screen it's unbelievable it's this way. This game is 1980s Spectrum level stuff happening on screen, think Knightlore and it's stuttering. 😮
For a forced perspective game comparison on the same hardware, Super Mario 3D world has incredible fluid motion and tons happening on screen and not a hitch.
This game should have been made with the same engine Super Mario 3D World / Captain Toad Treasure Tracker was made with.
I know, it doesn't matter so much for a turn based RPG, but Nintendo have the technology and just don't share it across their teams. And they charge full price for this (I got it in a "sale"). Crazy.
Honestly it's kind of rare their games need updates. The stuff that is online usually gets a lot but I've a lot of games from them that are still v1.0 and it's rare they get more than a single update.
It's quite engaging and gets better when you've got a couple of characters in the party. I like it. And the cover just rocks.
It's a pity most Switch games need an update. Kinda lessens the cartridge experience.
Might make sense for them to release digital first to iron out most of the issues, then do the final physical cartridge "gold" release. Knowing Nintendo they'd charge extra for that experience. 🙄
Id say after his Konami experience the deal with Sony was timed exclusive. After X years they gain back the rights for future projects or spin off etc.
Sony is publishing Death Stranding 2 (and the MGS spiritual successor) so presumably is at least partially funding it too. So I’d imagine it’s a case of temporary exclusivity, similar to what has unfolded with DS1 on PC and now Xbox (today is five years exactly since the PS4 version was released).
Just with the XBox release of Death Stranding ... I was wondering did MS give Kojima the money to purchase the rights with strings attached. Also, does this mean Death Stranding 2 could go-to Xbox or is that a Sony exclusive ?
He’s doing an exclusive with them (with Jordan Peele), but I’d very much doubt an acquisition. Why would you buy the rights to a game only to give it over to another corporation? And given Microsoft’s recent track record with acclaimed Japanese game studios, I for one wouldn’t want them anywhere near any more studios over there (not that acquiring Japanese studios is easy anyway). Not to mention Kojima studios are working with Sony on two games currently.
I wonder how much the rights were ? And why now on XBox. I smell a MS acquisition ...
Wasn't Kojima in some next gen, new experience, hush hush game deal with Microsoft, that needs MS cloud to run (like MS flight simulator).
Super Mario RPG is a good beginner RPG. It really very simple but it being very short means it ends just before it starts to get full. There's way better turn based RPGs out there.
As for Secret of Mana, after playing it recently I'm in the it's overrated camp. The best thing about it is that it's 3 player so you and your two nerdiest friends can play it. The music is excellent and it looks great but it's also kind of dull, the combat never gels, the magic system is broken and it's very obviously rushed and buggy.
Got Super Mario RPG on Switch. It's 33 euro on Amazon at the moment. Never really got into turn based RPGs. Maybe this will get the ball rolling. I did try Secret of Mana years ago and made two mistakes ... not completing it and selling the SNES.
One thing ... It's not available for PS5 Pro. 😁
Play Anywhere support as well, always love when a dev takes the time to support that properly
They revealed it in an interview to advertise MGS3 Delta. She, David Hayter and Lori Alan (The Boss) sat down together to talk about their experience making the game and its legacy.
Apparently her name was one that was guessed at times, but they always denied it.
Death Stranding is now out on Xbox and looks like Kojima has bought the rights to the IP from Sony.
That is actually really interesting. She announced it herself or was it revealed by someone?
