It'd be a bad look if a German company didn't accept investments from a person of Jewish heritage wouldn't it?
God. Does everything have to come back to this? There are wars and genocides and terrible things happening in conflicts all over the world. Just sick of the judging (which it is) over the Israeli/Hamas conflict.
Surely the opinions of the owner of a supermarket are completely irrelevant to the supermarket and the prices.
yes. Completely your choice though.
The Day 10 Workers Changed the World – The Dunnes Stores Anti-Apartheid Strike
For their actions, these workers were lauded by Nelson Mandela. He said that the strikers demonstrated to South Africans that “ordinary people far away from the crucible of apartheid cared for our freedom” and helped him keep going when he was in prison.Archbishop Desmond Tutu visited the workers on his way to receive his Nobel Peace Prize and said the strikers had “made their point at great cost to themselves and this I wish to commend them for. I must say that they are quite remarkable people.”

Apologies for disrupting the thread
Dunnes stores stopping the apartheid AND 10 off 50 vouchers, I don't know if these 30% off red hen coupons can keep up
I'm old enough to remember it. Too old to be told where I should shop!
Lets get back on topic?
Not much to talk about anymore, lidl plus has been hit by the usual marketing cycle.
Super Saturday, super weekend, lidl plus, etc. all start off with huge investments to incentivise us into lidl, it always begins to wind down eventually, and it looks like it's lidl plus'ses's'z time to wind down now.
I'm sure an advent calendar with 5% off chocolate will perk it up.
I can't activate this week's offers, but can activate the two treats (plant milk and raisins)
Has the app changed so you dont have to activate an offer to get it a the till? If so, great as having to activate them first was a PITA
yes
Your own offers need to be activated. The general ones don't. Just to make it more confusing I guess...
Thanks @OmegaGene @Toranaga
I am just a new user of the app. The functionality is crapp 😃...but not having to activate weekly offers is an improvement.
I preferred the old version. I have to keep checking what's on offer now. Before, I used to keep a mental image of what I had ticked.
Do they still get removed after you have used it once?
It is going downhill lately for sure. The app keeps pushing the same products that I have never bought and ignoring products that I buy regularly. 20% off is becoming the new normal rather than 50%, and I haven't got a free gift from them in ages.
Some of them are for multiple purchases.
the shop and earn points are okay, not sure if they rolled it out to all shops but my local was added to the trial at the start, I used 5k points to save a fiver the other day
Lots of folk saying they're not getting free gifts.
Is it that scratchcards only give rubbish like 20% off red hen or have they stopped scratchcards for spends over a tenner now too?
i am getting scratch cards but there's nothing worth collecting for me, 30% off red hen or chocolate and the odd free pastry
*nevermind - figured it out
prize consists of
10 x €100. €100 every 8 days over 10 weeks. Exclusions include alcohol, lottery tickets, newspapers, magazines, medicines, gift cards, selected nutritional supplements, infant formula, mobile top-up, checkout bags and DRS deposits
Jeez, I'd struggle to spend €1000 in Lidl over ten weeks
I'd find a way alright 😁
Yep same, mostly 30% off and rarely a freebie
If they included alcohol then 👍 thanks gubberment
This week’s coupon code is
PARKRUN235
and will allow you a choice between
a loose orange
or
funsize apples
Tbf, this app has been ongoing 4.5 years now. About time they wrapped it up, and offered customers lower prices overall. What am I saying, think of all that free personal profile data we give Lidl
No one is putting a gun at your head, forcing you to shop at lidl. Shop elsewhere then.
rant over ?
lots of people shop in Lidl and never use the App or any coupons; these are the customers Lidl love - why would they offer a blanket discount to all users?!
Had left it late to use last weeks Parkrun offer, it was expiring today. Am just back from Lidl, counted no fewer than 5 types of pre-packaged Farrells mushrooms all well stocked but none of the ones on the offer 😕
Did you check at the front with the Super 6?
gone - they had Asparagus there. Took the single pear - don't even like pears, nobody in the house does. Will add it to a smoothie…
