Replacing a circulation pump (heating system). Where's the water valve?

Hey all!

I'm new in here, and trying to look for solutions I found some very interesting threads here.

I'm trying to DIYing the replacement of my circulation pump. I have an old oil heating system (~1994) and the boiler just stopped working recently. I was told it's the circulation pump that should be replaced once the boiler overheat and then shuts down.

I'm struggling to find the valves to shut the water off in both sides, so I can replace the pump. I'm not sure if these (image) are the valves (maybe it looks like one, but old?).

If this is not a valve the solution would be to turn the main water off (the whole house) and draing completely the heating system?

Yep. Those are the valves and will most likely leak when you touch them.

You will end up draining down and replacing the valves.

Might be a job for a plumber.

Squirt them with WD40 and let it sit overnight, then squirt again and try the valves. Here's hoping for you!
