As a fellow sicko, I know Ken would probably self-combust on air talking to a well-meaning, gormless normie about US politics
Smart/lucky to keep him out of that one
I only heard the wrap of the week version for non subbers but it sounded like Donegan had no insights to share on his odyssey across America and instead cited NYT polls as the reason Harris would win. A bit of a waste of time traveling through the American heartland then no?
Amazing someone who didn't listen to the pod could express an opinion on it.
Yeah he wasn't laughing alright. Murph has a lot to learn from Eoin when interviewing, the main point being to stop sounding like Ger Gilroy by pretending to ask a question but instead taking a minute to get your long-winded opinion across. Let the interviewee do the talking.
Lawrence Donegan didn't go into enough detail about anything. He said Trump has a lot of ordinary people among his support, but said that they repeat Trump's claim that rigging occurs. That doesn't strike me as ordinary people thinking sanely in a democratic society.
ah he had a bit more than that alright in fairness… like the far more active dem presence and local activity he saw in all these small towns across the country, while the republican office would be a ghost town.
This election is going to come down to how energized each base is to get out the vote in those sorts of battleground states, so that was a decent bit of insight for how things look on the ground.
Not a huge LOI guy, but that was a very exciting evening/season. Delighted for Duffer.
Branno was right.
His pre-season prediction was Duff had no chance of winning the league.
Sneyd was right
I really enjoyed the LOI pod yesterday. I don’t know why people **** on Branno, I think he’s a great addition to the pod in general. Branno and Sneyd have good knowledge of the LOI and I like their contributions even as a casual fan. They get on well with the lads and it’s always a good atmosphere when they’re on. I probably prefer GAA to LOI, yet I much prefer the pods on the latter, and that’s thanks to the two lads (it’s a struggle trying to get interested in whatever Flynn and Murphy are talking about, sadly). Delighted Shels won the league as an aside!
… Jarno Trulli.……
😂
👍 👍
It’s entirely that you know enough about a given sport that there’s not much the surface level analysis all these sports get (that’s not an insult, it’s just what a general sports show can provide given the allotted time) can add. I’m sure US Murph would be unlistenable to a big baseball fan, for example.
I hardly pay attention to any GAA punditry because I’m already immersed in it and don’t need it in a digestible form.
More and more finding myself hitting fast forward through US Murph
I think Second captains could do with freshening up some of regular contributors
Lawrence wasn't lying about them walking out in the Trump rallies.
Probably infiltrated by democrats and Journo's, I'd put nothing past them.
I’m totally grand with Branno talking about LOI. I just don’t want to hear him talking about other stuff so much.

Barney Ronay really just needs to stop writing at this point, literally every paragraph reads like he’s trying to say the most obvious thing imaginable in the most flowery way possible.
Real Leaving Cert History exam vibes, but at least I wasn’t being paid to write it.
What does this have to do with Second Captains?
A League of Ireland pod after Shels won the league will be bliss, bring it on.
From what I can make out in this thread, Branno's crime appears to be having a strong Dublin accent.
From what I can make out your comprehension skills are terrible, nobody his mentioned his accent.
They certainly haven't mentioned it directly, but some times you need to read between the lines. Keep up!
Gotcha, just make up your own narrative to make your point.
He's not as bad as he's made out to be here. He can be quite witty. But, like the boys, will be mainstream in his views about everything. Hence why the "politics" pods are such wishy-washy rubbish. I cant get over some of Murph's questions/ rambling points in the Donegan podcast.
I've had that Tatu song in my head all weekend because of the Richie Hogan interview.
Yet more **** Man Utd chat today. Might as well sign up to the United We Stand podcast at this rate
it’s when he talks about film that he really bugs me. Goes on and on with the most pretentious wánk.
the other lad’s claim on the Dublin accent thing… I don’t understand that at all, sure Sneyd has a far stronger accent and no-one has a problem. Is Branno’s accent even strong? Sounds fairly normal…
I think the only thing that hasn't been used as a subject of criticism is his accent?
And, yeah, does he even have that strong of an accent in the first place?
Bit of a strange take tbh.
The only accent I've seen posters here complain about is Murph.
No idea where that stuff about Branno's accent is coming from either.
