Why is Kilnaleck beyount called skintown can anyone enlighten please?
I think there was a tannery in it years ago.
A lot of ones up that way took the soup.
You'd get a skinful in skin town. That's what they'd tell you anyway. 😄
A lot of reserve championship sandwiched in between u20 games. Reserve should be played in summer then keeping those players waiting until October.
Knockbride play Craigbane of Derry in ulster. They beat the Tyrone champions today. Drumlane played Craigbane 2 years ago in Breffni
The wonderful Kilnaleck once had the highest number of public houses per capita in Ireland.

I remember it so. And they all had their regular customers. Locals would tell you that the best craic was Monday when some of the publicans themselves hit the town. And a decent sized posse with them.
The weather today isn’t all that much different from last week.
Dull and wet but not the winds of last week.
big difference in the weather today, it’s wet today but not much wind
I think it was dynamic. Ball was coming in on a gale force wind and had James Smith under it. Hard to judge things, as we see from what happened and Brady is a good keeper
Cavstream shared it again. The ball came from beyond midfield. It actually looked worse than I thought. There was no need for him to let it bounce. Very poor on his part. He has to come and claim that ball.
And if he comes and claims the ball and Smith gets a fist to it and it goes into an empty net? Again, it was very dynamic. That's literally the point, it was very hard to see what to to do here. Clearly he still picked wrong, but it absolutely was a tough one with those conditions
If he did come for it and Smith flicked it in the same lad would be here saying he should have stayed on his line.
Exactly. Like jeez, it was a rotten day. He was caught, but it was 50/50 what'd happen and he just picked wrong is all
Any retirements for the County panel next year. Killian Brady or Clarke?
You’re a great man knows what somebody else would say. Brady had plenty of time given where the ball came from to make a decision and come for it.
He’s the goalie. He should be coming and claiming it and putting anyone in his way out of it.
Normally I would agree with you on this that the keeper has to dominate that sort of ball, but not in this instance
.It's not just that it's windy, it's the unpredictability of the wind that makes it impossible for Brady. He could easily take a step forward to claim that and a change in wind speed and it's over his head. I saw it realtime and thought he was badly caught out but re-watching it, he's in an impossible situation.
For what it's worth I would agree that a strong keeper comes out and cleans all in front of him with a high ball in like that. But that wind makes any effort to do that close to impossible.
Separately, I think Cavan fans were almost spoiled with how good Galligan was as a keeper, not just in terms of shot stopping and his place kicking but his ability under a high ball was superb. We've done the "why didn't Graham give Brady or O'Rourke more time" to death but this year it is going to crucial that we get a keeper nailing down that spot. We can't go back to the McGlennan nonsense of a rotating keeper. I think O'Rourke is much better under a high ball for what it's worth.
No bother can you link me to where they shared it again?

The crew in Breffni are really losing the run of themselves. Every team in the grading U13 comp told they have a “final” this weekend, despite previous results, and parents are being charged €5 into it! Madness.
Yes couldn't figure out what system they are operating. Scratch head time the €5 bit is taking the piss a bit.
Plus the fact that you can't have competition till u14 level?
U12 & below is non competitive so you can have competitive games at U13.
However, this is a grading comp and they’d said at the outset that there were no Cups or Shields so unsure how we’ve finals now.
Some clubs have lost all their games so it’s a bit ridiculous to be telling parents they now have a “final” and charge them €5 into it, particularly when a majority of these games are against clubs teams have already played.
I see the Division One League fixtures are provisionally out. Anybody hear anything re Division 2?
Have Div 1 been released? Either way, expect 4 away games and first game away as per usual for us
Knockbride lost by 3 points. And that was with a late goal. Expected a bit more from them in Ulster. But sure look
They weren't overly impressive in the Cavan Junior championship. Some good young players, but wouldn't have the experience of the likes of Arva from the year before.
There are provisional lists for Division 1 doing the rounds - Armagh start with Galway away and have Kerry away on Paddy’s weekend.
