I have been waiting for An Post to deliver my Amazon order all day. Now I see that they claim they tried to deliver it a couple of minutes ago which is not true. Amazon says "An Post ran into an issue when attempting your delivery". Oh that's nice! How do I know I will get my parcel? No idea who to contact either. Usually my orders have arrived without problems.
Contact An Post with the tracking number you have?
It will be in your local An Post Delivery depot.
Did they leave a note in your post box? You would need that as well as ID to collect it yourself.
I contacted them via their web chat. They would not disclose what the "issue" was but I am dead sure no postman has been anywhere near our house. Or if they have, they have managed to slide like a ninja up the staircase and only uttered "anybody home" quietly in their thoughts. Maybe a van broke down, maybe didn't feel like driving all the way here at this time of day. The customer service agent arranged for a new delivery but the tracking doesn't show it yet. Well… let's hope it arrives tomorrow then.
Oh god I hope not… The depot is in such a difficult location to get to. I've been lucky so far in that our postmen usually just leave stuff to people's doors if no-one is at home because the porches offer enough cover. No note at the door but customer service said they'd organise a delivery and emailed their office. I wonder if I'll ever hear what went wrong. All I really want is that parcel though.
An Post usually try delivery the following day if they didn't leave a notice with you.
Yeah, let's hope tomorrow they'll actually try delivering it 😅 instead of just saying they did. There's always a chance I turned my back for a second not looking out the window or was just a tad too far from the door to hear them tiptoeing behind it but I cannot understand why they couldn't knock on the door or ring the door bell. Still no updates on the tracking but I am guessing it will update once the parcel is back at the depot (assuming it will be returned there and hasn't mysteriously disappeared).
Happened to me before, didn't miss the delivery was in all day.
The parcel was delivered next day.
Had an item recently that was supposed to be delivered "by 8pm" and the postman turned up and didn't have it he said that there had been a hold up with one batch of mail getting to the depot and we weren't the only ones. He's a really nice guy who goes the extra mile so I believe him. Package was in Dublin the day before but not scanned locally till the following day when it arrived.
Hi,
Is it common not to recieve the "dispatch email after ordering an item?
My Orders state a recently ordered item as being "Dispatched" with an estimated delivery date. I got no email to that effect, though?
Thoughts?
I get several order a month and have never failed to get the email. Did you check Spam?
I placed an order about 2 hours ago and while its showing in "my orders" I still havent received a confirmation email. Strange as this has never happened me before.
Never usually check emails. I get the dispatch notifications from the mobile app. After that I look at tracking...
Thank you, I got a tracking number so I'm just going to keep an eye on it until I know more.
Thanks for that, I figure the email aspect of amazon must be glitching a bit at the moment based on my own experience.
Same as that I always receive the email.. Order not due for delivery until the 11th so maybe I may still receive it closer to that date. Nothing in spam. It says "Dispatched" on my Orders on Amazon, no email yet though.
Always get the dispatch email, but ordered some stuff from .de and .fr recently and found the dispatch emails in my spam folder.
Thanks, I normally always receive the dispatch email, and ordered something else not long ago , and received dispatch email not long after that. The dispatch email I'm waiting on is from Amazon.de.
How many returns on Amazon are acceptable per month does anyone know?
In the last couple of weeks, I ordered two Mp3 players, both of which were faulty. I have read stories of customer's accounts being cancelled due to making too many returns in a short space of time. How many items is considered too many?
Would I be ok to return the two faulty items?
I wouldn't worry with stuff that is genuinely faulty think I have had 4 refunds this year for faulty stuff that didn't even need returning.
I printed off all the return labelling emailed to me by Amazon after initiating a return via the website.
Is there anything else I need to do apart from the above steps?
Do I just package up the item, attach the labelling & take to my post office & they take care of the rest?
Think you put one of the labels inside the box also. As far as I remember, when you print the label it gives instruction page too.
Thank you. I
Has anyone ever returned an item to Amazon Germany? The return label states an Amazon address in Slovakia? Anyone experienced this?
I've had this , but couldn't return as the item had li-ion battery.
I have a question about a dispatch email from Amazon.
Funnily enough it doesn't mention whether the item is being delivered by post or a courier?
Should I assume it's delivered by post?
Check the tracking number?
Hard to tell without more detail. It's been years since I got an Amazon package that wasnt via AnPost or an Amazon van.
When you log in and check your order on Amazon website or mobile app what does it tell you?
Do you get any kind of tracking ID?
If you suspect your package is coming from China try putting the tracking ID in here:
https://www.17track.net/en
All dispatch emails have this section. The relevant detail is before the piece you screenshot.
No tracking number included.
