This point gets lost on many / most of the Israel supporters in the West. As Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist groups, their belief is that Israel are the 'good guys' in the conflict. In reality, it's terrorist groups going up against a terrorist state - and that terrorist state is often prepared to play way more dirty and nasty than the groups taking it on.

You act as if Israel were a peaceful country, existing happily with their neighbours when one day they were struck out of nowhere and for no reason.
It's impossible for Irish people to imagine themselves as an imperial coloniser receiving retaliation from a place their country had under siege for 20 years, historically we've very much been on the other end of such conflicts but I'd imagine if we were living in such an odious place committing such atrocities we wouldn't have the audacity to act surprised when the victims fight back against our aggression or act confused when the international community don't support us.

Ireland is a very welcoming country but also a very racist country and there is racist incidents every day in Ireland that are not reported , to think an orchestrated like 7th October attack in somewhere like say Tipperary would not be met with open bloodshed is naive.

Israel certainly aren't doing "nothing" alright. They're slaughtering innocents, destroying civilian infrastructure, blowing up hospitals, targeting refugee camps, using siege warfare as a means to kill civilians, murdering journalists to cover up their war criminality.
I'd like to think that Ireland wouldn't engage in the unlawful, murderous, carnage that Israel has been doing around the Middle East.
