Perhaps but there's a large market of drivers who can't parallel park, looking at this thinking it's the answer to all their problems.
BYD showing off some rear wheel features. That thing with the counter-rotating wheels to move the rear sideways looks like it'll eat tyres though.
I think they'll replace it quick enough...
I'm in Meath. Currently use a circle k charger 10 minutes away. Otherwise would be travelling 25/30km for a fast charge
I think the GAA club in Templeoge got funding for a fast charger in that new scheme announced earlier this year didn't they?
Which area of Dublin.
There are 4 x 22kw chargers at Rathfarnham shopping centre.
Terenure = 0
Templeogue = 0
Rathgar = 0
Rathmines has one ESB 22kw in the tesco carpark which is pay and display and heavily policed.
Ranelagh has one ESB 22kw on Chelmsford road which is a Dublin city council parking zone (red which is super expensive).
The nearest "fast" chargers are at SuperValu Sundrive, but these are always busy with taxis, and I mean always busy.
Surely they’re are plenty of other charging options around this area of Dublin ?
We don't have a home charger - if the circle k near us get rid of the high power charger we'd be rightly stuck
Oil companies like control and will enforce it whenever they need to weed out the enemy
Talk about mass exodus, or expulsion
I suppose it was inevitable that the forecourts would give Ecars the boot, however it'd be nice if they waited until they have their own chargers up and running first
Circle k in hartstown blanch have a load of the forecourt dug up so I reckon they are getting a few chargers
Ecars gone from CircleK Finglas about a week ago. Shortly before that, CircleK had a planning application to upgrade the entire site plus add 8 chargers.
No one imported a Tesla from the US to here.
early Tesla adopters imported from the UK not the US, different charging mechanics on the early Teslas made them impossible to charge here without major expense and no Tesla Service Centre would look at them
So last year I bought a 2019 Nissan Leaf. I have to say, I am very happy with it. I rarely travel outside of Dublin so its suited me down to the ground. I have driven to Wexford once, and it made it the whole way down with a small bit of charge to spare.
I love my motorcycles, I currently own and 2022 RSV4 Factory, I extended the warranty on it until 2026 but I am thinking about what I'm gonna get next. Given how good the EV car has been, I'm thinking on making the transition to EV MC
Specifically to this: https://damon.com/hypersport
The problem is there is no dealer in Ireland or even in the EU as far as I can see.
I think Damon are adopting the Tesla sales model in that you order it and it arrives in a crate.
I'd be interested in hearing from those early Tesla adopters who imported from the US on what they did, challenges they faced and what they'd do different etc.
Tbh having worked in a petrol station many years ago I doubt the shop staff will know or care
If you can catch a manager they might know more, alternatively an email to Circle K head office might shed more light
I might be wrong but Circle K don't seem to advertise upcoming charger locations? They seem to just appear like a gift from the charging gods
No idea. Could ask the staff the next time I'm there.
Quite possibly yes, although they've been happy enough to coexist so far. Taking Clonsaugh as an example they're at least waiting until their own chargers are in place before giving Ecars the boot
Maybe circumstances were different here, Circle K might be planning to reuse the spaces, or perhaps Ecars weren't interested in a short lease
Could also be the unit is forked and had to be taken away for repairs
Circle K Newlands Cross charger gone too
I wonder if this is the start of Circle K dumping ESB as site renewal comes up and installing their own kit. A single charger isn't something I'd be inclined to depend on.
Any word on whether it's slated for replacement?
Templeville Road Circle K 50kw charger is gone.
So if you live in Terenure, Templeogue, Rathgar, Rathmines or Ranelagh you no longer have access to this. You do have a single 22kw in Rathmines, but that's in a Tesco car park where you have to pay the parking charges on top of the ESB rates. Also in Ranelagh there is a 22kw ESB on Chelmsford road, also with Dublin city council parking rates, so that will sting.
I'll be asking a few questions to any politician who's coming to my door looking for votes.
Older models might have a slower charger. But he asked about the current model.
When I say 7kw I mean 6.6 kW on a leaf. I assume all EU spec Leafs have a onboard 6.6kw AC charger.
The 2 different models are the 40kw and 62kw batteries.
I think it's a good car. Even better now that the price has dropped due to people crying that chademo(it's DC charging type) isn't as plentiful at public charging points as CCS.
If you have facility to charge at home, that's not really a worry. Rare enough I need the charging network but with work from home and midland base it helps
Should be 7kW. You might be using a 16A cable so that's the limiting factor.
Did you have a PHEV beforehand and are using the same cable as before?
I am green so bear with me ,I taught that there are 2 different model leafs a 3.6 and 7 kv charge rate. So you have the lower capacity charge .
Is this your 1st electric car ,what are your taughts ,i am thinking switching to one
It should charge at 7kw max at home. This is the max AC it can charge at.
https://www.nissan.ie/vehicles/new-vehicles/leaf/leaf-range-and-charging.html
The 231 62kw Leaf i have only charges around 3.6KV on home 7kv charger
Am I right to say that regardless of the power of any public AC charger that this is the max rate the car can take for AC
