Letterkenny's very bad, lines start going down the aisles, the few times I've been to Aldi they'll have a good 4 or 5 to cover the bottleneck
i tried it a couple of weeks ago and they didn't know what I was on about. I saw that it was supposed to start on OCtober 24th but I can't remember where that link was. In it it said that you only need to scan the QR code once. I normally scan at start of shopping, but I wonder would it have to be at the end? As you would have to agree to amount you were going to pay? if they accidently overcharged you, it would take automatically without time for you to quibble! you could pay for some of next customers shopping by mistake or sometihng
Here seems appropriate to post this. My kids enjoyed seeing it which has to be a bargain 🤪

Typical Ireland. Company launches new service and the on-the-ground staff haven’t a bull’s notion.
I'm using it all the time now. I just scan the app at the start entering my pin to access the lidl plus card now as added protection for your payment details. Then when all your shopping is put through and they say cash or card, you just say Lidl Pay…there is an option on their till screen at the pay section and that's it….very handy!! Alot of staff knew nothing about it the first few times and we figured it out together, but they are all aware of it now in my store anyway.
But we still don't know which offer would have clicked in if you only bought one bag.
yes but not at all healthy.
along with everything that contains butter :-(
I bought one bag yesterday and the Parkrun offer worked.
animal fat is not healthy ? It’s much healthier than the free pastry lol
Healthy fats are vital for good hair and nails etc
Im glad the clock to activate is ditched, reduces unnecessary fumbling.
Lidl will still know who's paying attention to their offers so no real loss in tracking.
anybody got a single net of clementines to see which discount gets applied first? ;)
Three posts above yours.
I can confirm that I just bought one net of easy peelers (no clementines to be seen) and they were fully discounted, ie free.
I bought one bag, and the free Park Run offer clicked in before the Lidl Plus reduced price. Both were activated before I got to the till.
Healthy fats are the omega 3's found in fish such as mackeral, salmon, trout etc and also found in walnuts, seeds and avocados. These are the fats that are vital for good health not the fats from red meats.
Is there now a 1c discount on receipt for scanning Lidl Plus? I don't understand why it is on my receipt
rib eye steak marbelling is better than a free pastry
Used Lidl Pay yesterday. Easy enough. Auth'd with the bank via 2FA when adding to the app the first time.
Open app, open barcode, Face ID on iPhone auth'd the Lidl Pay. Scanned QR code.
The experienced cashier asked me for cash/card at the end; I said could I try Lidl Pay. He looked stumped. I told him there might be an option on screen. Tapped, done.
Pity Lidl didn't fully train their staff on this. Such a basic thing.
exact same scratch cards, so stupid
I noticed that too, although you would think they would make it more to make it more attractive to use, ie 50 cent discount as it saves time messing about with cards, ultimately speeding up till throughput !
A good deal all the same, if it weren't for the fact that they've increased the price of the basic chocolate bars by over 30% in recent times!
The J.D Gross dark chocolate 85% cocoa is now €2.09. I have been buying it for years. It used to be €1.29 up until a year ago.
i still think its great value for 125g bar as one of two squares is more than enough to eat per day.
Yeah I've recently switched from Lidl to Dunnes because I was sick of poor quality fruit. I don't know what lidl do, but it's not as good.
TBF I think it was about €1.59/69 (here is an article from 2018 when it was 1.39:https://www.independent.ie/life/food-drink/food-reviews/taste-test-85-dark-chocolate/36527231.html) and cocoa has increased more than 50% in the past year or so - and a 85% bar is heavily affected by that more than milk choc
All fruit in all Irish supermarkets is absolute rot. If we had a culture of Greengrocers (like they do in the UK) we'd have much better fruit (and veg).
Off topic, is there anything that costs 1.60? I've got that amount left on a prepaid mastercard :)
you could just top it up with cash?
No it was a gift card from work, no topping up
