A thread to keep each other up to date about where we all are in the process
Quick question, following on from the guy who's application was declined based on non disclosure of interactions with psni. I have had interactions with psni which I didn't think was relevant as I wasn't charged with anything etc, should I email them an give details even though I have very limited info to give?
mine took 10days to come back my smt @Gblue99
Has anyone waited longer than 7 days for their SMT results? I read it usually comes first and then medical results after but I’m yet to receive anything from doing it start of last week.
Congratulations 🎊 I'm in Dec so hopefully see you there 👍
everyone vetting really is different am 670s and in December class , and there people in 300s still waiting on vetting , I think i just got lucky
that’s a long wait for vetting, I’v been waiting since may!
Im 360-370 on ML. My vetting was in since Feb and was only just approved. I had to attend a vetting interview to clarify a few things.
Congratulations!! Where are you on the merit list?
..
congrats @manifest24 👍🏻
I got the call for reserve list December. So excited 🤗.
That's encouraging to know, thankyou. Just feels wrong since I wasn't trying to hide anything. I just forgot
I can't remember, but I can tell you now from my current experience it would be best to send them an email with that information. They'll definitely have that occurrence on their system. Better to be overcautious
In the vetting papers did it ask if any family members had any interactions with the police or did it ask just if we personally did?
If I have also forgot to include one situation when I had police involvement (guy hit my car and drove off) should I email them to let them know or wait to see if they ask?
Defo appeal. I’m currently in GV and I know 1 that appealed and won it. Worth a try for sure! You have came this far already.
@Fusk_Asker i feel you have a strong case it so easy to forgot things , i know they are strong on the truth and it human error that you forgot so I would defo appeal asap
Im going to appeal and get a letter out before the end of the week. I've about 11 days to do so. In the letter they sent (they sent no email) they quoted from the vetting application instructions "any interaction with police" should of been mentioned. I wish they queried me firstly because now it'll be an appeal of this decision which will go to an independent assessor, and I imagine they'll not only see my letter but also the original vetting panels rejection.. which I can't imagine will go in my favour. I'll do what I can and report back with the result. I'd be devastated to lose out.
When I filled the forms out I even got my family (and the other halfs) to read over it in case I forgot anything as I was paranoid. None of us remembered those incidents in 2015. 😔
I would definitely appeal so they can hear your side of it. If you were just reporting the incidents and did not have anything to do with them then you definitely have grounds for appeal. Just be totally honest with them. Say that you didn't think a car accident/reporting a crime was the kind of information they were looking for. Im sorry that this has happened to you.
@Fusk_Asker did they ever email you requesting further information on your or your family interaction with the police ? They emailed asking about my family interaction with police and I remember I had forgotten stuff and emailed it on and it was fine and I passed
Yeah their reasoning is because of those three there from 2015 which I failed to disclose. In the letter they called me 'unreliable' to be considered as a student officer. I'll appeal with what I formation I have, despite having difficulty recalling all the details. I did try going into an enquiry office today for more details but they wouldn't give me any despite it being me having reported the vandalism/assault... I also work under blue lights for two other jobs currently so to be turned down over this is very disappointing...
@Fusk_Asker is that reason they give because of that ? I would defo appeal it with any information you have
Hello
My vetting was rejected because I failed to disclose a few incidents in 2015. (I totally forgot and haven't recalled them until now). In 2015 I was involved in a car accident, but I didn't think it had any relevance to the application. (Police advised it was just an 'accident). Another involved an assault by my fathers then-difficult landlord, and another involved my his car being vandalised when I reported it on his behalf. I've since then moved away with my mum who separated my father and my circumstances are very different now.
Naturally, I'm upset about the decision and disappointed that I'm unable to submit information for these before being turned down. I can file an appeal, but I'm afraid the damage has already been done. Would be grateful for any advice.
They just give general reply , vetting only email you if they need something even if you email them directly never reply
is there any point in asking for an update for your vetting? I’m assuming you would just get a generic response?
Raise a complaint.
There will be a form.
They can charge for carrying out a medical questionnaire though.
It may not be standard nhs but if you're willing to pay I don't see the problem my gp changed me 30 I just explained that it was a medical questionnaire that they needed to check and stamp
this is strange as the medical form is regarding your medical history which only your gp has access to.
Hi, I’m struggling with trying to get the medical form signed off by a GP, apparently it’s not “routine NHS business” and they won’t facilitate this request somehow. Did anyone else have a similar experience?
Me also. They contacted me in June re further info about addresses. Nothing since, no hit on credit file.
we are off for a few days
if you start in December, how does it work with Christmas etc?
