So the balls-up has started since last night which makes Fairview from clontarf to Edges corner a single lane with bollards down the centre.
This will be a permanent feature and works will take 21 months.
I think the baths themselves are open but the cafe restaurant is closed for now.
The owners, Press Up, are currently trying to sort out a huge debt mountain while keeping as many of the businesses they operate running. Nothing going to happen with the restaurant in the short term unless someone comes along and buys it of them.
Thanks. Such a shame. The place was beautiful but the food was never great.
Speaking of the Baths. That mattress wanker dumps cars outside it all the time too.
Nolaclan bought it, mentioned here to be open soon…

Six gone in outside Gaffneys today, three more outside the estate agent a few doors down
^^^ Those will also serve to block car parking
Ha yeah noticed it already today.
Are cars allowed park up there? Always cars parked where the one pictured is.
That "soon" was written in May. May 2023.
I don't see it this side of Christmas, they have other things to focus on (the Dion in the old Central Bank).
The ones parked there are for the solicitors office, I believe.
I'd say it probably went under due to below par service and offering. It is actually quite strange to hear a place get negative feedback nowadays but I know many people who were one and done with The Baths. Myself and the wife visited and it was terrible. Food seemed frozen, asked for milk for coffee and it was sour, staff were all over the shop.
Yeah. I never went there myself but some friends said much the same thing. One even went twice just in case the first time was one bad night but had the same experience and so never went back. A pity because it's a lovely location and could be a real goldmine if it was run properly.
Any update for here? I live abroad but am from the area, surely this must be finished by now?
All sections still unfinished. Not sure what the problem is but barriers still in place along loads of the cycle path. Also, the queue to veer right at Edge’s Corner still as long as ever. I think most people don’t know the right lane is open to all traffic.
Looks like they're waiting until all the works are finished until they put on the final surface, which is why the cycle lane is still closed, the surface is terrible right now.
Can't understand why people haven't figured out that the North Strand route is now open. They're happy enough to sit there and wait while cars speed past them.
it's not gonna be finished in 2024 is it?
About 80% of cycle lanes are now in use though? Inbound- except for the end section at connolly, outbound- the section from edges to malahide road. Have found using it(mainly off peak) quite seamless and enjoyable. By unfinished do you mean they still need to be re-surfaced/snagging?
Oh how we laughed when someone suggested that before the summer. 🙄
noticed this clock the other day, it's gorge
Had a look at I drive past earlier. The only proper works left to do is at the Marino Mart corner, where they've still got most of the surface to do at the driving school.
I've that area is done, then all that's left is resurfacing/tarmacing.
They did seem to have a surfacing machine in the cycle way before the pedestrian bridge, but I good be mistaken in what that machine actually is.
What a c*nt
There’s a guy on Twitter who finds dickheads like that and sticks stickers to their driver window educating them about the error of their ways. I wonder if he can be summoned by bat signals?
And the bus lane from Malahide Road inbound is still not a bus lane. The SI is not in place and the signage is incorrect.
Audi. of course.
I would gladly have kicked the wing mirror off the thing but roo many people around. I've been meaning to smash eggs all over Mattress f*cking Mick's cars I come across but haven't got around to it yet. Yes I am unhinged about this stuff.
Feck sake, this is a real pox on the whole thing.
Even putting the wipers vertical. Not damaging the car, not an offence.
Unless section 113 if the RTA could be stretched to cover the wipers?
https://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/1961/act/24/section/113/enacted/en/html#:~:text=Unauthorised%20interference%20with%20mechanism%20of,113.
Need to get some egg shell bad parking stickers for cars like that.
You’re not unhinged. This ensure situation where AGS couldn’t be bothered enforcing the law (don’t @me about resources, I know several guards and they see this as a motorist having no choice) and DCC not wanting to hire wardens to enforce the law meant that people can park like this with immunity. All that money spent building it is wasted when crap like this happens.
Non-damage interference is the only way to go but it needs to be widespread enough to make dickheads think twice before parking like that.
