Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
will have to make do with fontaines the following week. I think I’ll struggle on.
he will end up headlining EP & reading & Leeds I’d say
Guessing lock in for EP and T Vital
Ugh missed the start of 3 presale for Sam fender and now only seated tickets left. Fck my life...
Free gig at the Workman’s on Sun. Recommended noiseniks.
Ticket link?
No idea, nothing on their social media so I’m assuming you just show up.
Suits me, thanks. Assuming an 8pm start……
Really like the new Sharon Van Etten and the Attachment song. Pity the tour does not include Ireland
she mentioned in her email announcement that she skipped Manchester on last album tour and is making it up this time. Sadly when acts only have short window in europe ireland loses out due to extra expense and hassle
Due to daughters graduation I have a ticket for Mercury Rev in Button Factory on 31 October I cannot use. If anyone interested in taking it (free) PM me
Couple of interesting gigs announced recently; La Femme and White Denim. I've seen White Denim a good few times and they are brilliant live and have been looking forward to seeing La Femme for a while.
Edit: Oops these are both 2025.
Next free tilt.
Same night as Nick Cave which is a shame, would like to see Affection for Rent
I'm LOVING the new Public Service Broadcasting album! Delighted to see them properly back in the archives. Really looking forward to that gig.
Happy to pour beer over you throughout the set @Stillill42, can’t have a dry one at these lads.
Good to hear they’re on form again.
Antlers completely fell off my radar over the last decade, I've nothing much on this weekend so I'll head along to the Opium gig tomorrow. Decent price.
Listening to Hospice a lot in anticipation. Heavy going at times but still a classic.
Thought that gig happened earlier this month? Or was it rescheduled again?
Rescheduled for Saturday week, 2nd November.
I'm going too. I agree with StillIll42 , the new album, inspired by Amelia Earhart, is really good.
Hospice is very tasty.
Hospice is a masterpiece for me. Second album also excellent and the third very good. Still not listened to the comeback one. Any good?
+1 for the new Public Service Broadcasting album, it's a real return to what they do best. My dad's meant to be visiting that night, I'm trying to subtly dissuade him so I can go to the gig 🤣
Or, if I couldn't get a ticket, Adore and Shark School at Whelan's
Ya, second album Burst Apart is very good too. No Widows is a really excellent tune. And Corsicana. 3rd album Familiars is very good. I found it a slow burner. It more of a slow atmospheric type of album. But I have listened to the song Palace to death.
From the 4th album, listen to the song Solstice. It's the standout to me anyway. Green to Gold is another nice tune.
I don't know what they will play this evening. It's a collaboration with Okkervil River. I think Antlers play first. Then Okkervil River, and then some songs together at the end.
I can't wait for it. Picked up a ticket earlier for €15. Heading over to Fibbers after - Iron Maiden tribute due on stage at 11. Really looking forward to a nice 4 hours of music for feck all euros.
Sorry, one last thing on this. I see that the show is scheduled from 7 to 10. So it looks like it will be an earlier than usual gig. Maybe from 8 to 10. I'm not sure about that though. But it says it on Whelans website.
SSaw That and looking for stage times but can't see any. Would be surprised if on before 8 however with two bands and possibly both together it will be tight so maybe will come on before 8
How was it last night? Have seen Antlers 6/7 times (twice at EP) but not for at least 8/9 years. Love ‘em and I’d have liked to have been there last night.
On tonight.
Ah, thanks @Mucker46, have a great one and feedback please.
There is a cheap enough ticket going on Toutless (I think it's still available) if you interested in going.
I actually have an extra ticket for Antlers/Okkervil River for this evening. Going for €15 if anyone wants some nice entertainment for a couple of hours.
I'll take that ticket off you if still available?
