Some people are just prone to that malady in their psyche and they'll, literally, make themselves look like the most hideous animal supporting a particular "side". There'll be no way to reason with someone like that because there's no reaching them. They're too buried in their own fanatical support structure. They invest so much of their time and effort in their "support" that it becomes absolutely impossible for them to break themselves away or even just admit that what they thought worthy of supporting previously isn't really worth supporting now. This becomes exacerbated online in places like social media fora where it all gets reduced to the level of a game where your "support" ends up becoming a means to do down an imaginary "opponent" on the screen.
In short, some people will just pick a "side" and dig their heals in even if it makes them look like an absolute cunt.
BTW, there's merely a handful of people on here who are bigging up Israel's behaviour and even fewer who have endorsed Hamas. The vast, vast, majority of folk are looking at what's happening in the region and are utterly appalled that this is where the planet is in 2024.

Israel is entitled to self defence - but not to the extent that they can slaughter at will.
Palestine is entitled to protect itself from invasion, but slaughtering and kidnapping innocent people can never achieve this.
And the really obvious part for anyone who genuinely wants peace?
Indiscriminate killing only creates hatred of the "other" - and perpetuates the whole circle of violence.
Lastly, as much as I admire the selfless bravery of the UN peacekeepers, the UN as an organisation has been proven to be completely ineffective in preventing/stopping the conflict, and the dreadful suffering inflicted on the victims, whether Palestinian or Israeli.
Where to go from here? I have no idea! All I can see is world leaders offering mealy mouthed platitudes - while wholesale slaughter is ongoing....
