Reported missing on 30th August after not being seen for 2 days. He’s 8 years old. Why would you leave it 2 days before reporting it?

Mod - Move on from the statutory rape comments please, it's not relevant
Nonsense.
Was kyrans dad involved with him - Havent seen any mention of him at all?
I haven't heard anything about a sister being missing too?
His sister isn't missing, she is meant to be with her granny.
The granny who claims to have seen Kyran at the end of August. Although it's clear now he was dead before this. RIP.
I assume the granny is the member of the family that the authorities are saying isn't cooperating with them?
thats the yoke thats meant to be minding the other kids. I hope they've actually been seen by others.
Would be great if they did. But that's not the way things are done in Ireland, where child protection is an after thought. Parents of the Kerry baby were identified last year. Guess what, nothing has happened.......
Amazing if the other kids are still in her care.
Sadly it wouldnt surprise me at all if she was still looking after(?) the other kids.
The fact her own got pregnant at 16 should have been a red flag in itself.
Shocking about the house being searched.
If the poor boy is found there, I can expect a tribunal of inquiry into this scandal.
His Dad had been fighting for custody of him for years apparently.
"We have been asked to say a few words of clarity on behalf of Kyrans family.
Dayla and her mother have kept to themselves the past couple of years they are believed to have no contact with any family except each other, that includes Kyrans grandfather and Daylas siblings.
Kyrans father has been fighting for custody of Kyran for approx two years, Dayla and her mother stopped him and his whole family’s access to the child, it was around that time she took him out of school in Dundalk saying he would be attending education in the “north of Ireland”
“He is not known to be seen Publicly” “in Louth” since then.
During this time Dayla was telling people Kyran was happy living with his Grandmother in Drogheda.
At the end of August the court finally made a decision that Kyrans father be granted full legal custody to begin on September 1st. Just two days before Kyran was due to be handed to his father Dayla fled to England, her mother reporting spending time with her and Kyran on the night of August 28th, she says he left the following morning with his mother before she woke up.
Also the young boy being used as a decoy for offical meetings including Tusla and social security payments was her boyfriend son, the child’s mother sadly passed away five years ago leaving two small children behind. God rest her soul 🌹🕯️🙏

That's it, do it Gerry O'Carroll style.
Can we let AnGS get on with the job?
So in this country someone can stop the father of the child seeing them and nothing happens for years? Absolute madness. Surely some politician/agency needs to be held accountable
And if they are the same family that tried to pass off the grandmothers partners child as the child supposed to meet with tusla, then many of them knew there was something that needed covering up.
My worry is that equally, the poor child could have been sold/bartered. Will the guards be able to proceed with a case if no body is found?
Fathers have very little rights in this country unfortunately… especially if the father isnt married to the mother.
Oh gosh, so that is what prompted the missing person report. Heartbreaking.
The “look at our economy, aren’t we a great little country” whilst services all over the place are threadbare/non-existant hamster wheel. There’s over 100 children currently missing from TUSLA care and it’s not seen as a massive scandal.
As bad a rap as foster care gets due to bad actors, stories like this just remind me that fostering kids actually saves lives
It was them who tried to pass another child off as him apparantly.
Afaik it wasn't the grandmothers partner but the "mothers" partner. She'd already had 3 kids outta 3 partners but the 4th partner already had one he made earlier that she borrowed for Tusla.
Same as it ever was then.
Too many scandals in Tusla. There needs to be a Tribunal into them plus a complete reform of child protection services in Ireland.
Absolutely - Im shocked this could happen in this day and age. Its possible other children have disappeared aswell and no authorities have noticed - its frightening that this can happen. It seems that this horrific case was only discovered because Kyrans dad was looking for custody. Sadly if Kyrans dad wasnt concerned/involved this sad case would never have been uncovered.
Surely Tusla when they were told Kyran was moving north ( as they were told) should have referred the family to social services in the north? Surely the school or Tusla should have had contact with the new school to confirm his move?
Poor little Kyran was failed by so many people. How many more Kyrans are there out there?
There is a protocol between Tusla and its UK and Northern Ireland equivalents where it is believed a child at risk has or may have crossed the border - even if neither is formally notified by the parent. Very obviously not followed in this instance.
IS there no communication between various computer systems in this country?
Surely it must be easy to link them together to cause alerts?
I mean, they were told the child had left the state, yet child benefit was still being paid for years. I'm sure he must at least have been to a GP or got a prescription in this state when he was supposed to be in the North?
Why was money getting paid out for someone not living here any more? I assume his mum was getting benefits too. Was she not supposed to be North with her son?
Especially "fathers" who have knocked up 16 year old.
You know that 'Gerry O'Carroll style' gets you, presumably?
False charges based on confessions to scientifically impossible scenarios beaten out of vulnerable people,

Why was money getting paid out for someone not living here any more?
If the mother was living in Ireland and the child was living in the north with relatives, then payment of child benefit was legal and correct. There is nothing illegal in that.
