Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Agree and then the cost of food/drink etc
Feel it's needs to be a 'substantial gig' for me to travel up to Dublin due to the cost
I know some hate the term 'Bucket List' but sometimes its the only way. Not all of us live in Dublin
Ye I'm gunna try see new bands like you say. If I've seen them 3 to 4 times going to try and leave it off
I'd be of the same opinion as yourself, like it seems every June towards the end of the month there's a week of gigs where it's practically one a day, don't get me wrong I enjoyed them like but I ended up getting fatigued haha doesn't help they're all standing ended up selling my Kings of Leon and even with Duff Mckagen this month had to get rid due to work,
My aim now is to just see acts I've never seen like Linkin Park now was a bucket list for myself and next year I've Marilyn Manson over in Amsterdam and I booked offspring had childish Gambino but he cancelled, got all the big ones this summer Rammstein was the best of the lot
but besides that they'd want to be either very left-field (one off gig) or a serious act to get me out the door, and they all cost a fortune now no matter the quality of the music, I'm hoping for U2 but with Larry I'd say no chance, we get tonnes of gigs it's just that the 3arena with the way it is can't handle every show / stage
Ah ye the price obviously the reason. Wouldn't be an issue otherwise. Will have to try smaller gigs in whelans. Gigs being 45 to 50 euro minium these days is just killer
Yeah, that's the direction I've headed. Small gigs are good for the soul.
I'm on the other side, making an effort to step it back up after covid and young kids, but the prices are definitely prohibitive. I'm really trying to focus on smaller gigs, some amazing stuff available around the €20 mark if you can find it
There's too many. I'm gunna try cut down in 2025.…been a hectic few years after covid. Bank accounts in bits. Easier said than done though
But to be serious for a moment. I think we're doing pretty well over here. I can't get to half the gigs I'd like to go to at the minute.
Come on, Nal. A double dose of Picture This and Busted vs McFly. We have much to be thankful for.
**** live music. We're still getting skipped by a load of good acts.
Very surprised Busted vs Mcfly has added an extra date here
Live music is on fire
Same in Letterkenny. Two nights in a 4.5k marquee in a town with population of 22k is pretty impressive.
Not sure if that's a sign of their popularity or just how starved everyone in this part of the country are for big live gigs.
He's a recent (2022) Glastonbury sub-headliner (to Billie Eilish) and potentially top of the bill in the future. Sold out Malahide last June. More popular than you'd think and getting ever bigger.
Second night for Picture This in Limerick
True and prob the reason he 'opted out' of supporting The Killers in Malahide in 2022
Basically all bands at every level do that.
He's a really big artist though (sold out Malahide and Belsonic last year) and this tour will sell out easily. New song/album will be everywhere when its out.
one Irish gig in June, one in July and one in August. I can see a few more dates and locations being added in between.
Cork, Galway, Killarney INEC maybe.
Could they fill a night in the Marquee? Or a more prime slot at EP? Or both?
The artwork seems to suggest
Yeah was wondering what happened to that festival in September. Didn't hear much about it
You were not the only one.
I thought the same myself when I saw it haha, RATM in the Olympia would be mental 😆
Closest I'll ever get was seeing Tom Morello supporting Limp Bizkit up at Belsonic this year he was unbelievable
Picture This - Waterford. Labelled as headliners for the HEAT WAVE festival
https://www.universe.com/events/heat-wave-2025-tickets-HBGW2C?ref=ticketmaster&_gl=1ub93hn_gcl_au*MTI3MjcwMTU4MC4xNzI3MzMxMTg3
Heat wave festival in Waterford this year was tribute acts, Foo fighters, GNR, Foo's and Bon jovi , it was originally supposed to be on in Mount Sion GAA, but was moved to a pub !!!
IS this the same group/person setting this one up in the RSC ?
Ha ha, Rage in the Olympia would be something to get excited about!
Misread this as Rage Against ... my heart rate briefly soared ... then the crippling disappointment of no 'The Machine' and the realisation that my brain saw what it wanted to see instead of what was actually written.
Definitely gonna try get a ticket but €65 for the Olympia
Just sign up to MCD one for free. There's usually an option to sign up to presale for free on the artists site in small text …(just checked....there's a *no purchase necessary on buy album for presalepage)
And he's pulling the 'Buy Album for Pre Sale' as the super star acts. Bit cheeky or is he that big?
A Monday as well.... 😂😂😂
December 2nd for Sam fender....very soon thought would be march
Busted vs McFly added a second 3Arena (26 October) and SSE Arena (22 October) date. Clearly way more popular than I thought they were.
Also great to see Singular Artists promoting so many shows these days.
Rise Against playing here next year
January 28th - Olympia theatre
January 29th - Telegraph Building
