That will focus the minds over the winter. Especially if Derry get a manager.
We will be playing Derry in Ballybofey so that should be a help. Win that one, and while not counting chickens before they hatch, an Ulster Final would look highly achievable.
A better draw in my opinion than being on the other side with Armagh Tyrone, or even Cavan.
Karl Lacey to Derry the rumour I suppose.
Might add a bit of intrigue but not sure what he offers Derry at this stage.
Tough enough draw. Derry will be up for it after the way we went in there last year and derailed their season. Agree if we get through that an Ulster final will be achievable. Other side definitely worse. The All Ireland champions likely facing O'Rourke's Tyrone if they both get through. I think Tyrone under O'Rourke could be one to watch and a dangerous team.
paid €22 for the matches today on website, absolutely diabolical stuff .
As far as I know he is still with Kilcoo who won the Down senior championship yesterday who will have ambitions on winning Ulster which could have a bearing on the Derry job if he is in for it.
He is still with Kilcoo and 'rubbished' the rumours re Derry. They won the Down title again and am sure they will fancy a tilt ay Ulster at least.
Derry should be in a 'win now' mentality and I don't think a rookie intercounty coach is what they need.
But then again, I don't really care if they never win anything.
Normally if we were out, there are a few counties I would not have cared if they never won anything ahead of Derry. Even if I believe we were robbed of a good shot at back to back AI`s in 93 forced to defend our Ulster and All Ireland titles in a swimming pool, but I would not blame that on Derry. Even if with them going on to win it was a double sickener as to how big a robbery it ended up being.
That said, with them being managed by he who shall not be named and Mickey Harte, I would have been in the corner of not caring if they never won anything as well.
I notice Brian McEniff's article was about Michael Murphy returning to the inter county set up.
Anything behind this?
Was wondering the same thing, I'd imagine if there's nothing to it Michael will come out and say so, interesting with the the new rules etc.
Eunan's will rue that one. Too many turnovers. Shane O'Donnell had a great game but gave away possession very easily at a key moment.
They left it behind them. I suspect that O’Donnell will be a player that benefits from the three up rule. Teams will not leave him one v one with his ability to ghost past players.
There's one player in particular who I won't name, but am sure you can guess who he is. Played a lot for DL under Bonner, a defender, he got forward a lot, but never shot. Same on Saturday, charged foward, turned back, no chance of shooting. I really don't understand how someone who can play at intercounty level isn't able or willing to take a shot when they have a sight of the posts.
Haven't seen other fixtures but Examiner has us travelling to Killarney for first match. Definitely not a happy hunting ground.
Home to Dublin and Armagh after that apparently.
Murphys back for 2025
A nice boost to morale on the day that's in it 😎
And so it comes to pass.
Well done to Muff. Didn't think they win against a team that were Derry Intermediate Champions not that long ago.
Muff in an All Ireland Final. Fair play to them.
Good times in Donegal with Four Masters winning Ulster Minor and Abbey in McRory SF.
Might have an adult and juvenile ticket for the game on Sunday if anyone needs. Not sure if travelling yet.
I'd use them if available, myself and young buck headin to it from Tipp.
The Jason McGee transfer is a disgrace. Banty proving, yet again, that he wants to buy success.
Send me your email via PM and I'll send to you.
Will do, thanks very much.
He's a pretty unsavory character Banty. How is he able to play in Monaghan if not working there. Is he living there or is Banty pulling a fast one?
A fast one from all accounts.
Maybe Jason is getting accommodation in Monaghan...
