You need to realise she is drawing the comparison between the Allies and Israel because in her mind it justifies Israel breaking international law because the Allies also did questionable things like fire bombing cities to defeat the Nazis. In her mind the comparison is a cast iron defense against any criticism of Israel's actions. It's a clever strategy because she can allow herself to admit that yes Israel may violate international law and commit War Crimes while at the same time defend it as being terribly unfortunate but for the greater good.
So, how should the Allies have waged all-out war against the Nazis? Would WWII have turned out as well as it did (with the absolute defeat of Nazi Germany, the Japanese Empire and Fascist Italy) had there been specific restraints on the allies?
Or is Israel being subjected to rules that others who had to fight all out war have not been?

You need to examine the relationship between the Israeli right and Islamists,such as Hamas, since its inception. The Israeli right do not want peace.. they essentially need their Islamist foil to implement the vision of the Likud Charter. This is why Yitzshak Shamir was only too happy to aid Hamas in the 80s to weaken the plo who were seen as too secular, therefore a threat to Shamir's plans. We saw history repeat itself with Bibi in recent times when he boasted to colleagues that keeping Hamas sweet was the best way to undermine the PA and any moves towards a two state solution. He now has to try and fight them to the finish to ensure his own political survival and avoid going to Jail.
Are you condemning Israel for having dealings with Russia pre-2022 when literally the entire world was doing the same? If so, that is hypocritical. That includes weapons components - AFAIK Ukrainians have found microchips from all over the Western world (France, US etc) in spent missiles and drones in their territory.
Post 2022, I'd agree - if an Israeli company was directly and intentionally providing weapons to Russia - that's inexcusable.

"Hamas etc" are not state actors, and are not signatories to the Geneva Convention - Israel is (on some level) and moreover claims to be part of the "West" and therefore "morally superior" to all other parts of the world.

As for when Israel have gone too far, as an Irish citizen that is if they kill or seriously injure an Irish UNIFIL member. That is true even though I consider UNIFIL to be useless and would prefer it if they all left.
As to the rest of it, the simple fact is that the rest of the civilised world has failed comprehensively to deal with Iran and its network of allies, such as Russia, Hamas, Hezbollah etc. Ukraine and Israel are now paying the price for this and so far as I am concerned, whatever either country has to do to protect itself is fine by me, with very limited exceptions.
