Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Wolfe Tones tonight …
Will be great craic … hopefully!
Was at the Phillip Glass Ensemble in the NCH last night. Absolutely brilliant, one of the best live performances I've been at in years. They're playing there again tonight, but in a different format, soundtracking a movie. I have something else on tonight or else I'd be back in a heartbeat. Should be tickets still available - fair few unsold seats last night
David and Paudi ?
Anyone going to Alan Sparhawk in a few weeks. I liked the last few Low albums and thought the electronic/glitchy stuff worked. But but he's gone to another level on his solo album. Not sure how I feel about hearing too much of that voice effect live. (Obviously the man can do as he pleases).
Early start if you are going
Wow. Who did the flyers?
Seeing them at the Roisin tomorrow so feedback please if you go tonight. Their acoustic set in Monroe's earlier this year was excellent, I only know 78 tracks pre-gig and was impressed with how good their material sounded. I reckon the electric gigs are as good as is available this week.
UCD Ents Officer circa 1984.
Wow thanks for that heads up!
I just Googled stage times and found nothing
Looking forward to it but wrecked after the week in work so early start and finish works for me
Any idea if there is support for St Vincent camt find anything
Anna B Savage... 🤷
TThanks Beecee
Agree. I've no problem with the music, but those f#cking vocals! I detest autotune and find it an affront to my ears. It's just such a horrible, horrible sound. Baffles me how it became so popular. It seems like he wants to totally separate himself from anything resembling Low, which is fair enough as it can't be easy for him since Mimi died. Curious as to how long the gig will be though as the album is only around 35 minutes.
How were the Bluetones last night?
thought they were great, up there with the acoustic gig, crowd were into it, he's a very engaging front man, 3 new songs in the setlist which he almost apologised for but they actually sounded pretty good, and the old classics sounded great, enjoy the gig tonight!
the sound mix wasn't quite perfect for me, maybe it was just where I was standing, that was the only thing
Great too hear. Thanks for the feedback.
Anyone know what time Evan Dando on stage tonight?
Feedback again please @ergo as he’s in Galway tomorrow. Am not expecting much from a solo set after the Lemonheads superb gig here two years ago.
The Bluetones excellent tonight. Every last track was impressive and Mark Moriss is funny as fcuk. Would happily welcome them back next year.
There were a few moments here and there but overall a trainwreck. People walking out and eventually the house lights went up as he started insulting the crowd. Cover of Hospital by Modern Lovers was a highlight but the lad probably shouldn't be on a stage right now.
Christ. That’s my mind made up on grabbing a ticket for tomorrow. Hope the guy gives himself a break soon.
Yikes... What was the refurbished Ambassador like? Was it at least a nice comfortable venue to get insulted by a performer?
Going to give this a little bump, Little Whelan's tonight. From his Facebook posts I don't think ticket sales are good, but he's really great
Would second that. Have seen him live a few times very good and some cracking songs. At St Vincent tonight or otherwise would be there
Someone who hasn't discovered Canva apparently.
If you insist. He does write a good tune.
Actually I really enjoyed Evan Dando last night...
Seriously, just kidding, it was, as stated, an absolute trainwreck of a gig. I've seen him 7 or 8 times and sure, sometimes he phones it in, but this was on another level. Am presuming significant intoxication was the reason. Many people left half way through , he seemed to be shouting or growling his vocals 1/3 of the time, rarely was there a song was decent from start to finish without him going off track in some way or other. After the excellent gig 2 years ago was not expecting this. I've never seen them turn on the house lights and cut the performer's mic off to end a gig before, now that was at 1030 or so
Part of me thinks surely that can't happen 2 nights in a row. Venue was grand, I've not been there for about 15 years, was a bit cold as less than 1/3 full, acoustics were good, a fuller venue and Evan on form could've been great but unfortunately was the opposite!
"I promise I'm not going to yell at the audience tonight...."

Very sincere. 🙄
Apparently a little better in the Róísín but not great. A pal was speaking to him outside the venue after, ‘polite but shitfaced’ was the summary.
