Why is it irrelevant? Maybe the unit is implied, like per km of WLTP range would be a more complete description but we kinda understand it. When one compares cars objectively uses such metrics. It compounds the car efficiency with what you pay for it.

U didnt have to go the Tesla Service Centre? Thats handy, was a pain to wait there for all that to line up.
No. Not on the MS or the MY.
A tesla windscreen is circa 900 euro for a m3. It was 50 euro deare than autoglass but they had it in stock in Jul while autoglass was a 6 week lead time.
Not sure where 4k price came from.
Sent email to Tesla support on Monday evening.
App has been sorted now and referral tab back in place 😀
Unlikely to ever happen, they were at parity at €42k a few weeks ago and the 3 still sold like hotcakes. 2 different cars with 2 different markets
There's also the potential that the recent price drop could already account for the tariffs - ie the drop would have been greater only for the tariffs
I've actually made that comparison before. Size of fuel tank means less trips to fill up all things being equal. When I did 50-60k a year or more in diesel cars the bigger the tank the better.
In EVs it's more important again because filling up other than at home is a hassle. When I drove diesel I was mainly filling up at home with my own fuel , so that was a hassle too!
I see the Model 3 standard range RWD has dropped in price again, now €37,484. Excellent value
Yesterday when I posted the link from EV database Tesla LR RWD wasn't on the list. Today it seems is there and took over KIA EV3. Interesting EV database is not using the WLTP but a "real range", yielding the figures below. I'd imagine they are theoretical and will be revised
All in all I think it is a great addition to the limited offering Tesla has. Looking at the longest range it is probably the only one under 70k (way under), with the range over 500km.
My 4 years of ownership will be up next March. Low milage never had any issues. If I request a full service in the app is that the best approach to get the car fully checked out before warranty runs out?
Yes. Say you want an end of warranty check. Ranger told me it was just above €200 to get it done.
thanks Gumbo - I appreciate your knowledge as always
The range is fantastic on that. Is it worth the extra few grand I wonder.
Happy Friday all… Sold my beloved VW Camper (daily driver) last Jan and picked up a VERY VERY cheap runaround. AM dizzy from all the pro vs con EV chat the last 6+ months but keep finding myself back at the EV chat - as I think one would really suit me!
The 3 is coming in at around 80/90 a week on PCP with around 6-8K up front which seems a LOT of car for the money. I'm only driving say 40km per day to and from work (I live outside of Limerick city). No kids. No long spins. Very little mileage.
What kinda money to have the charger installed? Do I have to have a certain supply - or is it just a matter of the correct breaker on the fuse board? Ideally I have a board in my garage for lights and sockets with room - so it'd be an easy install.
I've no smart meter - refused it - will this scupper the install at all?
Should I just bite the bullet and join the club?
TIA
Dont overthink…bite the bullet and you wont regret. 6 months of deliberation is enough..
Nope - I still have an old school 24 hour rural meter. Just check your on the best rate plan.
Hello.
Why would you not have a smart meter?
On EI smart plan (night rate 11pm-7am with even lower rate 2-4am) effective cost of charging car is less than 50% of srandard electricity price. And day time rate is only 1c dearer than standard rate.
Based on Tesla M3 RWD with 55k in year 1.
There are probably even better rates available.
Frank
Yeah agreed. A full charge costs me €4.20 in the RWD on the BG EV plan based on charging 2am to 5am. On a 24 hour plan you're talking about at least 3x that cost to charge at home.
Hi folks, is the model 3 price going to increase due to china tariffs? I am hoping to buy one (3/Y) soon. If 3, then is advisable to buy asap before the tariffs? thanks
Why would you not have a smart meter
Because time of use plans don't suit our consumption patterns. EV charging is just one part of total usage.
It is a factor in your decision. Take Bord Gais, their 24h rate is about 24c while their night EV rate is 6c. So you'll be paying four times the rate to charge on a 24h plan. It'll still be around half the price of petrol.
EV charger install will be anything from 900 to 1600 excluding grant depending on how much new cabling you need, how fancy a charger you want and if you are willing to source it yourself
I tried this last night and rear heated seats was not showing as an option. Car was a 2021 RWD.
The EU could delay the tariff or Tesla could absorb the extra price. Nobody knows for certain what is going to happen but hopefully Tesla and other EV manufacturers confirm one way or another soon.I have a model 3 ordered so am waiting to see what happens. If you order and decide you don’t want the car you can just cancel your order but you might not get the deposit back.
with Tesla, you will get the deposit back.
that is good to know 👌
Strange, I tried it on 2x 2019’s and it showed for both
yeah weird one. They should appear in upgrades yeah? Same as AB.
How many points is EAP? Not appearing for me so maybe not a redeemable option
I don't have a smart meter at the moment - but owning an EV would deffo change that.
We have av VERY low bill at the min as we've no kids and are both at work most of the day Mon-Fri. Oven, dishwasher and dryer are rarely on. I delayed the smart meter install as I'd heard stories of bills going up. etc. At present ours is only 150 euro every 2 months and I'd leave it that way UNLESS we buy an EV.
Cheers for all the great info and advice.
EAP is not in the referral scheme.
