I listened to part of an aljzeera debate on the matter, and there was a "reasonable", "humanist" Israeli on the programme who said, "well, if I had been in Benjamin Nathanyahoo's shoes on 7th October 2023, I would have done the same".
He was careful to first agree that everything that has happened to the Palestinians in Gaza, and in the Lebanon recently, was terribly sad, really awful - but his end response was that There Was No Alternative. I couldn't listen to it for very long, and maybe he eventually had something less evil to say, but if the "moderate" Israelis speak like this (and Nethanyahoo is called "moderate" by some) then there is no hope for Israel in the long run. And very little for their neighbours in the meantime.
Well they've gone to great efforts to make sure that every child and person capable of bearing children has been bombed to dust in Gaza, it's not a big jump to believe that such a scumbag country would also be dabbling in eugenics. There is nothing reputable or respectable about Israel or their state policies.

As Palmach noted above, it would make no sense for Israel to go to such extreme efforts to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel - including chartering the flight with the most passengers ever - only to try to limit their fertility and thus their numbers within Israel.
As state policy goes, it would be completely counter-intuitive and fundamentally counter-productive. At very minimum, the discrepancy in policies needs to be explained by anyone raising this issue.
