Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Surely i am not the only one thinking 3 stereophonics gigs on the island next year is a bit of overkill tbh. Yes we've all been listening to oasis lately and then go oh remember that song by the Stereophonics but surely that's not going to sell tickets. ..
I definitely think it's a few days before the gig and pick up a resale for 30 quid kinda gig.
Haven't seen them since Slane but someone like the Manics could easily tack on another few thousand sales.
It seems its their biggest tour ever.
They struggled to sell out Custom House Square last yr in Belfast and are now doing Belsonic which is 3 times the capacity.
They are doing 3 shows in Ireland and 4 in the UK which is odd.
ANy damien dempey presale links? 👍👍
I think it's going to come down to support acts to shift an whole heap of tickets so hopefully we will see the Manics or someone similar
I always thought Marley Park was great apart from the cluster **** at the Hella Mega Tour with only one gate open with ridiculous ques.
I agree.. Same for Pearl Jam this year… Standing at the exit for 30 mins without moving !!
Learned from it for Green Day and left during last song … that was easier.
I didn't notice too much on the way out bar having very little floodlights which was dangerous with 30k people leaving.
My main issue was getting in as we arrived and seen the que all the way down the road, was worried about missing Weezer but luckily a few mins before they came on they opened a 2nd gate to get in just as they came on. Any other gig I've went to there you were able to walk through the park so much easier.
Los Campesinos - Button Factory - 8th Feb
and as long as the dart doesnt break down which happened me at 2 gigs
Cracking band, great venue, Saturday night, love it!
Edit: just seen it's the first time they'll be playing Ireland since 2008 😲
Great call, loving the variety and sound of what I'm hearing there. My fave Gallic crew btw were this lot, long disbanded after the main guy passed from cancer about 15 years ago. Tony Visconti did a fair bet of work with them I seem to recall.
Also, I like their poster for the show
Red Stables is used for accessibility for wheelchairs and other disabled users.
Think the walk from Main Avenue to Raheny side was fenced off too .
Main avenue is long alright but was moving along ok anytime we attended .
Maybe a few lanes ..fast .slow ..drunk 😁
Or any bus going to Raheny Howth or Clontarf .
Yea Noel was definitely better the following year at Kilmainham .
Ye must have walked to Killester Dart which is further away than Harmonstown Dart. off Brookwood Avenue .
This year they had routes clearly marked and well lit to Dart stations , buses etc .
Manics were in Trinity with Suede and they toured together this summer so doubt they would be back to play support to Stereophonics in St Anne's?
Sorry for spamming , just catching up 🙈
Highly unlikely. They're done touring for now from what I can tell. They'd also be going from co-headliners to support which would be a huge step down.
Also if you have either on support, you'd announce it before sale to push tickets.
Intrigued btw, you and @odyssey06 discussing Mastercard presale . I was looking into this recently as despite paying with Mastercard for every ticket I never get this access .
I don't know what I am doing wrong .
I get MCD presale alright usually .
Not a gig per se but Six the musical (not a tribute to Nadine Coyle!) in Bord Gais Energy Theatre from 17-28 June next year. Never seen it but supposed to be great and gonna try get tickets on Friday.
Anyone seen it?
I've only noticed in the last few weeks as it seems a new push that they're doing so you might not have had a gig yet where it's been available.
the credit card companies are the originators of the pre sales going back 10 or so years if not more. American Express/MasterCard etc sponsored big tours a decade ago for presale access. taylor Swift had a us bank as main sponsor for her one with a presale window for them. Just seeing a few like MasterCard make it blanket across europe and not just America for timberlake etc
Can it really be worth that much to the likes of MasterCard?
Surely no one gets a new card for a presale like this, most will just check their cards, ask friends, family etc? Just can't see what the upside is for them to (presumably) spend a chunk of cash on
Revoluts disposable cards are 'mastercard'
Wouldn't really say it would be a step down though, Trinity is like 5k capacity and supporting someone in St Annes park with an approx. 20k capacity.
Los Campensinos! are coming to Dublin (Button Factory) in Feb 2025 following the release of their latest album All Hell. https://nialler9.com/los-campesinos-announce-dublin-show/ https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/los-campesinos-all-hell/
10am Friday is going to be manic. Gonna try for Springsteen in Manchester, this and my sister wants me to try for Ricky Gervais
It’s a benefit/add on to existing card holders. Loyalty benefits are a big part of credit card/bank card world. if you can offer pre sale to Taylor Swift or Chappell roan etc it’s a perk to customer. same as 3 mobile sponsoring the point depot/presale. Doubt anyone has ever switched to it for that benefit but again a perk to users. Also remember that these banks etc get certain contracted benefits, they might get a Justin Timberlake appearance at Christmas party/surpise gigs for customers, appearance in an advert by him and complimentary tickets. I know friends of friends who worked for the bank sponsoring Taylor Swift era tour and it was seen as massive benefit, comp tickets for guest entertaining, presale access etc, employees who hit targets got free tickets etc
Wow, didn't know that St Anne's would get that much ?!
Wonder will we see an Inhaler summer show at St Anne's or Malahide. Album 3 announcement seems to be lining with all the summer announcements
Yep, an 80 minute high octane girl power pop show. Very very enjoyable but I'd plan a night out around it, it's over in a blink.
