No delivery Saturday unless the postman wants a bit of overtime.
This is two weeks in a row. He must love work but be **** at it not knowing what places are on his run are closed in Saturday's.
It's an automated alert. Nothing to do with postman pat.
The alert actually says " next working day"
Thats what I always took it as too, that it would be Monday. But I will get a failed delivery notification from the Saturday. It's never been like this before.
And the notification actually says "arriving today by 8pm".
I'm just curious really. No beef with An Post.
Q
I've had Amazon deliveries on a Sunday before. I assume there is somewhere on the app where you change delivery date or address.
I could be wrong here but I think Amazon have their own delivery fleet, I've definitely seen Amazon vans around the town. Maybe they don't us an post.
I get my stuff from the postman. I'm out of town though.
Nah, I've seen the vans around but mine is always delivered by An Post, even in Tralee.
What iteration would that be? 😛
Whatever it's called at the moment. I can't remember what name they currently have up outside, but it isn't Ballyseedy anyway.
I think it went from Ballyseedy Restaurant Ltd to Smaash Burger Ltd. I don't know what the deal is now that the ones that ran the Roasthouse are running it, or even what name it's running under. I haven't visited the place since before all the trouble kicked off.
I think we're all interested in what takes place at the meeting, and if anyone starts roaring about anything. 😛
From their FB page
An Post do parcel deliveries on Saturdays, have done for a while now
Buttermilk Cafe is the new name for the cafe and Fairtree Village is the new name for Ballyseedy. Buttermilk cafe is being run by Ronan and Linda who had the Roast House.
An Post do a lot of Amazon deliveries
Yep, An Post have had Saturday parcel delivery for several years now.
Also, as another poster noted, I've also seen the Amazon delivery vans around town on numerous occasions, and they deliver weekends, but I don't recall ever having had them deliver anything to me either.
my husband orders from Amazon regularly and its always been An Post, never had an Amazon van arrive. I did see an Amazon van in town the other day, but there don't seem to be many of them around here.
The plans for the Island of Geese are complete and utter madness. What do the planners use for brains?
With all the dereliction and run down buildings around the town, they decide to build an apartment block and a new courthouse on one of the only green amenity areas left in town.
Insanity.
http://traleetoday.ie/contracts-signed-for-new-housing-development-at-land-of-geese/
But that was always the plan for it? It was never to be a green amenity site - did you see the plans when it went out for public consultation? You’re a bit late complaining about it now 😂
It might be too late, but they didn't pay any attention to the public in the first place… !
I'm still trying to visualise how a courthouse 27 apartments and some commercial space over by the Gas Terrace side can all fit into that plot along with the walkway, chimney and open air plaza. Seems far too small a site for all of it?
Remember, part of the plot the apartments are being built on is the derelict site at the back adjoining the Denny site.
I did send my views earlier in the process. Fell on deaf ears.
They've done a great job on the green areas there now and already its held great outdoor events over the past few years.
But from looking at the plans there'll only be a strip of the current green area remaining.
When walking through other parts of town and seeing the amount of run-down, boarded-up derelict buildings that are crying out to be repurposed.
The dereliction laws are in-place now to support local councils in addressing the dereliction.
Yet they choose to concrete over this lovely green area.
Its madness.
I was in London recently and what struck me about the city is that in-spite of it being hugely built-up, it has retained a huge amount of green areas throughtout, from the city center all the way out to the far suburbs. It is an example of how the planners have got the balance right over generations. And a huge factor in what makes it a fantastic city.
The planners here are very obviously totally underqualified and inept.
The design statement for the building in question, just in case not everybody has seen the plans:

Isn't the Courthouse all up in the air again with the An Post sorting office moving to Clash. Plus it seems the DoJ seem to have done sweet FA on the Island of Geese proposal.
Thought it was monavalley, not clash
Nope, earlier this year ownership of the island of Greece site transferred to the Courts Service. Just waiting now on the next round of courthouse capital funding, which I think is expected next year, to get the show on the road.
The Edward St site does offer development potential but the GPO would have to move back into the original building that's to be vacated by the sorting office.
There must be an election coming, Michael healy Rae has his Vote No. 1 election leaflets in the doors already! 😂

I suspect he will see 10-15 years of a sentence
I reckon he's been singing and will go into witness protection.
He won't survive being in the general prison population.
