Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
It's a long enough walk from the entrance of the park to the venue but that's not exclusive to there.
I've numerous friends who have sworn off ever going to a Marley Park or Malahide gig ever again as its a pain to get to.
There's never enough darts and the Dublin bus options are a lot more limited and can be more infrequent than other venues. It's further trip back to city center. And if you don't live near a dart line, which is most of Dublin, the dart is isn't a great option. It's also not walkable to the city center.
It's definitely not one of the handiest (unless you live nearby).
Yeah as long as you get to the DART before the other thousands of people. We got home at 1.45am from it this year. Live close to Marley Park
expect the horrors to announce Dublin show for next year
ah ok. I live in Clongriffin so we could walk it if things turn sour. Am more concerned about it taking forever to get out of the venue afterwards.
it’s honestly one of the handiest with the dart
Getting there and back is a pain in the ass.
Whats the problem with Malahide Castle? Saw Arctic Monkeys there 20 years (yes things can change) and don’t rem any problems. Going Timberlake next summer. Was at St Anne’s the last 2 summers & Fairview last year and thought both were great.
Yeah I'm never going back to Malahide after the LCD gig there this year.
Now you're talking.
suprised at the comments about St. Anne’s . As a venue for gigs I’ve found it really good . Bit of a walk in but in no way dangerous or bottleneck . For nightmare locations and buzzkills see Malahide Castle . You can’t even get a drink after 9pm there due to the residents moaning . Fairview and st. Anne’s brilliantly run imo .
Ha! Fair enough. Have you listened to The Liminanas? Should give them a go, plenty of 'Gallic joie de vivre' there. Great band.
No. En attendant Ana won't do at all at all. Nice stuff but they could be from Camden, innit? What's the point in listening to a French electro pop group unless they're sensuously rolling their rs at you in a simultaneously sexy and unsettling way? Gallic joie de vivre is what I want from my French groups, Dreamweapon.
Was thinking the exact same. Last time I was there was for NGs High Flying Birds, the trek in and out from the dart was a serious buzzkill. And Noel was shíte but thats a different conversation.
i got out early aswell - i went right at the crossing and not all the way down - and went off course managed to get a dart back in time but was wrecked - not as bad a marley because you have the dart there n back , but not rushing to go back
Dart to Killester or 130 bus or one of the H buses or 6 bus probably handiest.
yeah she is only doing a button factory sized venue in New York. Artists o1 visa can easily cost between €3-7k a band member. The 40k lost would probably be just the visa fees for her and her band. The visas last 2 years so hopefully she could make profit on the next few usa tours. You have to time the usa tours right to either you can play big sized rooms in the major cities, hope someone like hozier or dermot Kennedy brings you along as opening act and that covers your visa fees or prepare to lose money on the first or second tours and eventually break even
Not directly related, but I thought a few people here would be interested by this
Orla Gartland is playing 13 US dates, mostly sold out, few upgraded, and yet she says she'll lose about 40k doing it 😕

aye, they were fun live though and the pics of them now look like they're trying out for Besson's Subway (40 years too late), tickets are cheap enough so happy out.
Ah sure it's a 'pub tune'
Thank you Neil Diamond
An awful song.
I only ever liked to first two albums by UB40, never really rated them after that and hated stuff like Red Red Wine.
two entrances are used for it but they converge into one entry point into concert venue
Ali Campbell version
Wonder is it the 'makeshift UB40' or the 'Ali Campbell UB40'
Thats disappointing to hear.
There are a few other entrances to the park, Im not sure why they arent utilised.
Yep, got Maiden on the presale with my revolut
Could be worse, could UB40/Damo Dempsey.
Only been to St Annes once for Noel G, agree its a bit of a trek into the park but kinda reminds me of a smaller Marlay Park type place, I moved to the back of the area when he was doing his last song and started the walk back just before it finished back to the Dart Station and was back in Connolly fairly quick.
I was at some of this summer's concerts and it was as you described, bottleneck until you get halfway along the main avenue.
perfect accompaniment to the music of stereophonics so
