Anything is possible, but that car isn't cheap to start with and would become very expensive landed here. For what arguably is a very meh car. You would have a lot of Mercedes Benz for that sort of money.
If you were going to do that I'd think about shipping to Rotterdam, register it there and just VRT it when here
Nearly went down this route recently, be careful as the car has to pass whatever their NCT is there, so you need to hand it over to a crowd who will bring it through the test and do the work if needed - this adds to the cost. Now you have a car that is in Rotterdam and getting it delivered to Ireland adds about 2k to the cost.

It's in Cyprus, part of the attraction would be driving this back. Ferry to Turkey (via Northern Cyprus), or Greece and then via the Balkans or Italy to get back here.

Bussos don't come up for sale much any more. The engine alone is worth quite a bit now. Good find! And it comes with another dismantled Busso too.

Are these cars as much trouble as urban legend would have it? Or have all the 'issues' been dealt with by now?
They just need decent maintenance. But the Busso engine itself is quite strong.

Import duty, VAT and VRT. And a godawful process to import it. As complicated as bringing in a container of stuff from China. There are agents that can do if for you, but if something goes wrong, it could be stuck in customs for months. And if you take a ferry to Ireland, the car is likely confiscated upon entry. In other words: don't bother unless you get a Northern Irish car.
