Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
I believe you, but it just makes no sense. Strong indie (and other) music tradition there. Pals from the city are all serious music heads and I expected the demand for interesting acts to be proportionately the equal of Dublin, Limerick, Galway, etc.
talk to any promoter who has put on cork gigs. It’s a death trap
That seems to be the consensus. Any idea why? It's a county with close to 600k people so the numbers are there.
Hopping Duran Duran play here in 2025
One of those bands I always seem to miss when they play here. The rescheduled Covid gig in 2022 didn't suite and was at Bruce the same night in 2023
Trinity prob a bit too small
Tis massive but a third of that around the city, uncomfortable transport links and next to no chance of getting some after 10pm.
Not comparable to Belfast at all which has a much stronger live scene.
Probably have to Save a Prayer for that.
Off the back of a successful Anne's Park a swift return proved tricky didn't sell out the 3 with reduced/freebies in lead up.
Stereophonics announcing tour dates on Monday
Yeah, that was a mess, and I say that as a fan. St. Anne's was great, and I'd have gone again if it hadn't clashed with Bruce. Far too ambitious to bring them back so soon. And then all the diehard fans who bought standing tickets felt gypped when the assigned seats were put in.
I can tell you, no one was sitting, we were up and dancing the whole time.
Just the inconvenience of not being close to the stage.
Apparently
Thurs 5th June- Belsonic
Fri 6th June- St Anne's Park Dublin
Sat 7th June- Virgin Media Park Cork

As a massive fan but would they really be able to pull that much of crowd for all 3 dates.
+1 to that.
My hope for 2025 is The Marmozets eventually get the promised new material out and tour it with a Dublin date. Everything else would be a bonus!
yea woulda thought that’s a big ask
i agree, there not as big here as they were - - there gonna need very good support to get a good crowd
It's 25 years since "Performance and Cocktails" this year - so if they billed it as an anniversary tour of that album, I reckon it'd sell well for nostalgia reasons if nothing else.
there already going on nostalga atm . i seen them at Slane , it was a free ticket that day,
there doing uk festivals aswell and the reaction wasnt great to them headlining. maybe 2 nights at trinity id go to 1 but 20k at st annes. not the greatest venue - id avoid tbh
compare that to supergrass doing 2 nights at the Olympia -
That's a good point the anniversary billing might get more tickets sold, they'll definitely need strong supports too and to not price the tickets too expensive.
any predictions for Any of the now annuals Malahide , St. Anne’s and Fairview for 25 ?
We have Justin ( Malahide ) so far @€100 it’s not selling great no suprises , Lumineers ( Raheny ) repeat and no mega rush it seems either . I can see Chappell Roan upgrading from Olympia to one of these venues if touring thst is , OMD threatening a return , could see them finally getting a top billing somewhere after being amazing 2 years back as support to the dreadful crowd killing soft cell. Any predictions guys ? Please no more 2 Johnnies , please no . Rewind was excellent maybe a 25 version of that , heard erasure and Jimmy sommerville celebrating big anniversaries could be a winner
Talk of Stereophonics and Tears for Fears for some shows (to myself I had thought TfF be perfect - if true I may head).
If was to add a prediction, I woukd say Stone Temple Pilots for Trinity a là Jane's Addiction. Woukd it have Scott? No. Would I go mad for Dead &Bloated and Lady Picture Show? Yes
I wonder will we see Limp Bizkit with a Dublin gig? They sold a serious amount of tickets for a midweek gig in Belfast last summer.
Would love to see the likes of Deftones in Trinity but probably never gonna happen.
for dublin you would still have to add an aslan type locally popular aswell and simular at others
Don't believe Deftones/Gojira was selling well in the point but was during covid people mightnt have bought in expectation it might not go ahead.
2x Vicar last time officially here so Deftones exactly right for Trinity/Iveagh. Carpenter doesn't tour with them outside US since covid though so prob be the guy from Crosses or someone else.
Ricky gervais 26th March 2025, he announced it himself earlier
I'd take LP back but probably depends if they are hitting Europe again next summer, I know they are on the US/Canadian Metallica tour early summer 2025. Would be happy if we got a mini metal/rock day in either St Annes/Malahide/Marlay e.g. Download etc.
no more Clémence though.
Get over it Scruff.
Rizzle Kicks possibly announcing a tour tomorrow
I must admit i'm a bit torn about the La Femme gig as i really didn't get on with the past two albums. In the world of French popsters they have been usurped in my affections by En Attendant Ana:
Must have a listen to them. Yeah, they were right at the perfect point in their career for me when they played EP in 2017? I think? And their new one is in English!! Zut alors!! But they were such fantastic fun the last time I saw them, such cool motherfcukers that I can't not show up to their first Irish date since.
Wait, what? Is it any good though?
