Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
ticket sales are atrocious for it. Standing still available and centre blocks like block E
The "good seats" are the unsold (vastly overpriced) vip seats that reverted last week to the regular sale.
I was going to get a Fugees ticket but the warnings here stopped me. Can't remember who it was now, but thanks!
If, somehow, it seems to be going ahead I might still grab a last minute one and hope they're half professional
If I was in Dublin and it was confirmed as going ahead I'd be tempted to buy a ticket, but not in advance. There must be a fair amount of cautious potential attendees like that.
Too mellow. Tune for tonight’s walk…..

Peter Hook & The Light Galway gig next month moved from Leisureland (capacity 1200) to The Black Box (capacity 750). Leisureland always seemed ambitious for this gig. I was getting bombarded with ads for it over the last few weeks but that clearly didn't get them the boost they needed. Personally I prefer the Black Box anyway.
I'll be even more surprised if The Pillow Queens justify the Leisureland capacity in December but hopefully they get a good turnout
Was having this exact conversation with pals yesterday, think the Róísín over-reached with booking both for Leisureland. Hope we’re wrong re PQs as it’d be a major boon to Irish indie music for them to sell 1,200 tickets in Galway after Lankum & the Fontaines managed it in the previous 18 months.
And I agree re the Black Box being a better venue. If only it wasn’t in a car park and had a lick of paint in the past decade.
Floodlights. Australian band playing the Grand Social, Friday 1st November. To my ears they sound like something a lot of folks here would like. I'm reminded of Talking Heads, Arcade Fire, Parquet Courts, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and a bunch of other acts. https://singularartists.ie/show/floodlights/
I was going to go to Russian Circles the same night but that's sold out so i might take a punt on this.
The Last Dinner Party is going ahead tomorrow according to their Instagram, should be a great show even if more or less than same as the show in Workmans last year
Saw Floodlights at EOTR. Very enjoyable, a bit old school, I wouldn't be expecting Talking Heads but certainly worth a look.
The Last Dinner Party gigs going ahead in Dublin thankfully.
Looking forward to Lucia and the best boys as well.
Anyone going to The Wolfe Tones farewell final gig in 3 Arena Dublin who could do me favour please
As in, advise you not to?
removed cos it was a little too much.
No just wanted something picked up if possible
just announced this morning 😀 😀 can't believe I'll finally see them in Cork
The shows last week were cancelled and refunds issued
anohni singing Lou reed songs in nch
Wow, that could be pretty cool.
Certainly would be intriguing.
Yep, I don't normally enjoy those tribute shows (usually too many artists and lots of messing about) but this looks like a goodie. Hoping there's a Johnsons show in the near future. Their EP set was superb, but the wrong setting - the main stage on a Friday evening ain't conducive to a quiet and respectful audience.
So, Lauryn Hill, any updates
I'd wager that Pras won't be there (having initiated proceedings last week against Lauryn Hill) and Wyclef probably won't be there (he's supporting Janet Jackson in Germany and played at the weekend with another gig tomorrow night).
But who knows!
The Janet Jackson shows all have off days when the Fugees are playing, but Wyclef doesn't have a single mention of the shows on his socials, so I wouldn't be holding my breath.
Unfortunately I can't justify the ticket for this, zero confidence in Ticketmaster/MCD Delivering as advertised.
Agreed - the complete silence of the gig(s) from Wyclef would suggest he's not turning up.
It could be a phenomenal show but on the balance of things, I'd be with you on this, the risk is huge of a no-show or crap show.
MCD were still pushing it two hours ago so you'd hope for those who have tickets that they have some reason to be confident.
I see mcd or 3Arena put up a post earlier about they're or she was sound checking but who knows if that's true
Indeed
If all 3 members don't appear on stage tonight I would consider that false advertising.......
will immigration let pras in as he is awaiting sentencing for federal crimes he was convicted of. He will likely go to prison shortly for between 5-10 years
Were the special guests ever announced? Or is Lauryn considered one if she turns up..?!
No special guests, just Lauren's tour DJ doing a 20 minute set.
