If this fact check produced an explanation that made any sense I'd gladly accept it but the reality is that the explanation is bizarre.

It's very possible I'm being cynical from seeing too many posters on here who are hardlined into one side vs the other. But when I see someone bring the conversation into antisemitism (which is an issue) but they also refuse to comment negatively on a single Israeli action, such as targeting rescue workers or shooting a 6 year old, I stop believing they're genuine in their concern.
I don't support anyone here, Israel, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, all do things I have no time for.
For clarity, that rally in Sydney also featured crowds shouting "fvck the jews" which is blatant antisemitism, the antisemitism on show at that rally as plain to see.

I'm amazed how some of you try to raise the numbers of Hamas members killed but try to downplay the numbers of children murdered. It's as if you are all secretly embarrassed by it all and trying to play it down. I would trust the numbers given by Aid Agencies and not the people who murdered them.

Gaza has been reduced to millions of tonnes of rubble, it's not like it is functioning to the point where they can send in specialists to dig through the rubble and find the bodies and body parts.
I imagine a lot of the actual rescue crews they had have been long targeted and murdered by the regime anyway.

However, people I speak to do not mention "Jews". They are disgusted by the killing of huge numbers of civilians and wanton destruction by "Israel".
And most of them wouldn't have a clue about the history of the ME or Hamas/Hezbollah/Iran. And they don't need to know to form their opinion - they simply see what Israel is doing on the news - its is abhorrent and immoral to kill women and children and to lay waste their homes.

The numbers vary. Officially, the number of known Palestinians killed in Gaza is 44,000. That would equate to about 30,000 women and children. I'd say the number of dead children is circa 20,000.
But that is the known number. There are many thousands buried under the rubble that will never be identified. Undoubtedly, there are many for whom there is nothing left to identify - the result of a 2000lb bomb with a kill radius of 750m.
A letter published in the Lancet estimates the number of dead in Gaza is circa 186,000. This number includes secondary deaths due to lack of medical care, starvation, disease etc.
All in all, I'm not so sure the distinction between 11,000, 16,000 or 20,000 dead children really matters at this point. Simply put, Israel has killed an extremely large number of children.
