The US has used its veto more than any other.

“Since then, the United States has been the most frequent user of the veto power, mainly on resolutions criticising and condemning Israel; since 2002, the United States has applied the Negroponte doctrine to veto most resolutions relating to the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict.”

Israel has annexed so much of Palestine thanks to the US's iron clad veto.

Various regimes around the ME may be client states of the US, but so was Iran once.

Saudi Arabia is ripe for a game of thrones.

Lol it's probably about 95% the same military resources. I'm not sure there were battalions of tanks from Niger or Stealth fighters from Senegal.

It's a bit like Irish forces in Afghanistan.

The Czech Republic has blocked a joint European Union statement that called for an "immediate ceasefire" between Israel and Hezbollah and condemned the number of civilians killed in Lebanon, preventing the bloc from releasing a unified response to the latest developments in the Middle East.

What interests do the Czechs have in the region?

interesting to see how Israel retaliate, lets see how stupid they are…!! If either side knows whats good for them, they wont target Nuclear reactors. Israel would need to buy a bit of humble pie

Not sure. Hungarians, Austrians and them are most pro Israel in EU

Killing is not a sin in islam. There are a lot of obligations to kill people in the faith. For leaving it, for disrespecting him. For being Jewish, gay, Christian, pagan, adulterers, long long list.

Israel will hit military targets in Iran, many of those are key suppliers to Iran's very close ally Russia.

So what happens shortly will be a big help to Ukraine

It's one war with many battlefields.

The French Foreign Ministry “strongly” condemned the latest Israeli attacks that killed dozens of civilians including on an orphanage and school in northern Gaza and a family home in the southern city of Khan Younis.

“For several weeks, civilian infrastructure where populations find refuge has been repeatedly targeted by the Israeli army,” it said.

It's not in the interests of the Czechs to have the headbangers in Hezbollah or the Iranian regime get a reprieve.

    It's an act of solidarity.

But other nations in the EU arent rowing in behind them. What differentiates Czech views from others? Is it just a Jewish population there?

Where did you get this horse$hit from? For centuries Jews were persecuted by Christians up until WW2 and Muslims that gave them sanctuaries too. Even in Palestine they lived along Muslims and Christians for centuries. Nothing in ME happening today is anything to do with who believes what. Both sides use religion as excuse as religion is the easiest topic they can brainwash people with to suit their agendas.

Of course, this is from a context that practically all EU governments and EU political parties are either pro-zionist already, or at least tactically neutral. I mean - say what you like about the Hungarians and Austrians, its the French, Germans and Italians who are handing israel the weapons, knowing full well what they'll be used for. Issuing a call for a ceasefire is meaningless.

As far as European populists like Orban in Hungary goes, there has been an effort by israel to get ahead of populist politics by ensuring they're pro-zionist from the ground up. So it doesn't matter who gets voted in. A guy called Yoram Hazony is leading at least one aspect of it: he argues for a form of zionism he has repacked for Americans and Europeans as national conservatism. He organised a series of National Conservatism Conferences in the US and Europe between 2021 and this year.

The attendees at these conferences pose as populists on the streets, but are just zionists between the sheets: Farage, Douglas Murray, JD Vance (yes, that Vance) plus the likes of Meloni and Victor Orban.

Iraqi militia group say a total blockade of oil and gas from the middle east will happen if war breaks out.

Yeah a bunch of 50 year old dudes with weapons from the 80s.

These backward Muslim countries are all pooping themselves as they realise Israel can beat them all militarily and Allah will sit on his divine arse doing nothing to help them

why does israel need to buy humble pie - Iran has attacked them with 200 missiles

if anything now is the perfect time for israel to take out Iran's oil and nuclear facilities, encouraging local iranian regime change which would benefit the entire world

The IDF identified the soldiers as Captain Harel Ettinger, Captain Itai Ariel Giat, Major Noam Barzilai, Major Or Mansour, Major Nezer Itkin, Sergeant Alamkan Tarfa and Sergeant Ido Breuer.

These seem like unusually high ranks for getting killed in battle at the same time, does the IDF have an unusual rank structure?

Maybe we should pause on the regime change encouragement in the region full stop.

It's one of the reasons we are where we are.

If Israel target Iran's reactors it is probably Israel we should be encouraging regime change in.

The consequences of that could be catastrophic for the region as a whole and could live up to the thread title.

Apparently the Czech PM is a extreme zionist, so its more a reflection of the PMs views than the interests of the Czech state.

Sure, look at Iraqi and Libyan regimes now. I don't think Iranian are stupid enough to see what happened around them when some bullies tried to bring democracy. Right now to them evil you know is better than evil you don't.

By the way get ready to pay 3 euro for litre of petrol and 1 euro for kW of electricity if good people of Israel tries to bomb Iranian oil fields.

Any non-Muslim was treated like a second class citizen and had to pay higher taxes. Islam was spread at the tip of a sword. It’s in their Quran, Mohammed was a warlord.

There have been multiple Christian ethnic cleansings in the ME too, two in Turkey alone in the last hundred years. The Baltics hate Muslims as they were historically invaded by them. The Crusades were a response to the Islamic invasion of Spain, Southern Italy and Eastern Europe.

Half of the Jews in Israel are from the surrounding ME countries and North Africa, they fled persecution. Europe has seen the true face of Islam and it has and is shifting political parties to the right.

Iran's nuke sites could be sage for now..

Many Israeli officials point to Iran's oil facilities as a likely target, but some say targeted assassinations and taking out Iran's air defense systems are also possibilities.
