Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Haha tbh I'd be more concerned about the sound system in that place than the location, was on the way out last time I was there granted was 6 years ago but haven't heard of improvements since unless I missed news.
I'll definitely go to a Dublin date if one gets announced. Roll on 2027 for the 30th Anniversary of Ladies and Gentlemen :-)
😯😂😏
Sure they love 'supposedly' knowing stuff that us mere peasants are not privy too!!!
Indoors in Manchester would be nice, outdoor summer shows are a pale imitation of a good arena show.
We're on the same side because we both love music, love going to gigs. I suggested you were being a dick because of your attitude to the poster. She didn't suggest gigs shouldn't be held outside Dublin, I just thought it was a bit of a confrontational reaction. I'm delighted to see more bands hitting Cork, Limerick, Galway, Dundalk, Kilkenny etc. Ive travelled many times for gigs, live in Kildare and know how lucky i am to be within striking distance of Dublin. Not sure why it has to be another 'entitled Dubs' conversation.
Benny see my response to Wrongway above. Not sure how I've got into this argument. I'm all for gigs being spread around the country.
Alabama 3 playing their first two albums 'Exile on Coldharbour Lane' and 'La Peste' in the Academy, Saturday 8th March. In the Limelight and Dolans either side of the Dublin date: https://mcd.ie/artists/alabama-3
What does Book Soon mean?
Not on sale yet.
Next week/month? Why not now if they have the venue sorted?
They're on sale on Friday. It says it two lines above where it says "Book Soon"
Was this bit of d**kishness aimed at me ?
I am not a Dub .Just happen to live here ! And not all of us are mobile/ free to travel as you appear to think we should all be .Especially midweek .
I have seen plenty of complaints about concerts only being in Dublin or Belfast here and would never presume to tell someone off for not being able to travel ..
no need to be getting personal about it really . You were incorrect in your first post taking me up as saying I wouldn't travel to Cork .
If it's genuinely what the family want well ok then .Did they stipulate NO gigs outside of Cork ?
Yeah, many people who would be Rory fans have long since emigrated ..why would you be dissing people returning for concerts ? And many will fly in to Cork if they can . So what's your point ?
And the reason that week is a problem personally is because that and the following week are Trinity Sessions / Iveagh Gardens gigs . If there was a Dublin Joe / Rory gig it would draw a big crowd that week among those people who would already be attending those up here .
Give over with the Dublin vs Cork narrative . It is people wanting to attend a gig talking here , not saying anything negative about Cork .
We all want more gigs available countrywide .
MCD advertising the Bruce gigs
A little odd
Why is this place so fractious? There seems to be lots of bickering here and hereabouts. I take it some is professional rivalry between the various promoters but there's no excuse for us lay people taking swipes at each other. It should be all about the music, people.
Live Nation own Ticketmaster and MCD and they know a load of Irish people are interested in Bruce gigs abroad.
LiveNation are his promoter in England
Yes the petty squabbling over nothing is fairly pathetic.
Nah, they've done L&G enough times, no need to retread that one again (obviously from Jason's perspective it IS the one to do again to bring in the cash, but for me it would be redundant. Of course, i'd still go 🙄).
I strongly disagree..! ;)
😁😁🤣
This has me intrigued.
I know Fingal CC are trying to get gigs in Ardgillen/Newbridge House/Swords Castle in the future.
Always wondered why Tallaght stadium is used more 🤷
Foggy Notions teasing 3 new gig announcements tomorrow. Anyone good at emojis able to have a guess who they might be?
Billy Joel, napalm death and Travis /s
I'm just spitballing here. No facts
Don't tell me Piano Death Weather are finally going to play here?
Stereophonics in St Anne's Park and Virgin Media Park Cork apparently
That's a name I haven't heard in a while..!
Love me a stereophonics gig. We get older... setlist stays the same age
Oh I'd take that.
I know you're joking but Napalm Death w/Crowbar, Full Of Hell and Brat already announced for the Academy, Tuesday 4th March!
