Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
For anyone going to The Academy tonight, MCD posted the following times at their social:
7:15 Miranda Lee Richards
7:50 The Black Angels
9:30 The Dandy Warhols
Yes it's not easy but he is so passionate about it. Not sure his wife feels the same.
Anyone any idea of the stage times for the go team tonight in the button factory? Tks
This .Forgot Paul McLoone.
Loved his show and one of the very few playing new bands .
The promoter posted on X:

8:45 Thanks Mom
9:30: The Go! Team
Radip play post no 47: Some pals from Derry have a band called The Everlasting Yeah. They’re based in London but much of the fanbase is from the Old Country and they’ve never got a sniff of airplay here. Second track on their new album got played by Gideon Coe and Marc Riley tonight.
Been listening to 8Radio for the past couple of days. Consistently great material but not enough of it from newer or younger acts. That’ll hopefully change if they have the audience that will give them the confidence to be more adventurous. We can help (in a small way) to raise their profile.
"hubris is an instrumental post-rock band based in Switzerland. They will be touring in October and will be stopping in Dublin for a gig."
Wed 2 October in Fibbers.
A *very* quick listen made me think of Russian Circles

The Last Dinner Party cancelling more gigs...Dublin gigs still on for now...
oh fcuknuts.
Dublin will be cancelled
source?
Still very much on according to their own website
That show in Lincoln that was cancelled (after the support acts played) came in for a lot of criticism as single men attending the gig were taken aside upon entry, searched and interrogated to establish why they were there, name some songs and verify if they were actual fans. Sounded bizarre and utterly horrific.
That is bizarre. Kinell.
Read that apparently some complaints at earlier shows and security went overboard. It is mad
Yeah I read that looks like an issue with security at that venue saw their statement, bizarre and OTT.
Saw that. Bizarre is right! Never heard anything like that before
Wtf?!
seems like miscommunication from tour management to venue operators that men had been acting up/creeping at others shows so be on the lookup and have zero tolerance and venue security decided to interrogate men on the way in.
There's a fairly massive gap between being aware and vigilant about anyone doing creepy stuff at gigs to segregating, interrogating and searching every single man at it. Baffling how anyone thought it was a good idea and signed off on it
The BBC have an article covering the Last Dinner Party Lincoln situation.

I don't know anything about The Last Dinner Party, would they have a large female following?
I welcome it, will deffo stop lads acting up and being creeps at shows if interrogated before. Put the fear of god into them.
Yes huge.
It's a complete overreaction. Treating the majority like that because of the potential actions of a small minority is madness. Would be an awful gig experience. The venue and security can be proactive about protecting women and rooting out creeps without this. It's using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
People will welcome all sorts of things up to the point that it's them being pulled out of the line and into a separate area.
Want to target me? Fine, but we're having this convo in public in front of everyone else there for my safety and theirs.
As a solo male gig goer, if security ever pulled this bull with me, I would just never go to that venue again, and creeps would still be creepy.
A few clubs already have such briefings for people coming in, sets out the ground rules. Warns people not to act up or you’ll be throw out. Sad that it’s needed but some men are foo handsy/creepy.
Tickets state that people are subject to a search in a matter permissible by law, but taking single men aside, conducting (in some cases) an airport security-level search and asking them questions to somehow "test" their knowledge of the band is totally over the top.
As someone who goes to a lot of shows and who queues for standing gigs, I'd be seriously p***ed off if I was taken aside for no good reason (other than being a male on my own), detained for several minutes and delayed in securing my place.
An act having a predominantly female following doesn't mean that single male attendees should be viewed with suspicion.
