Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Feels a tad like Nile Rogers/Chic!
Could well do but bit skeptical myself. Gallagher is no doubt popular in Cork, Donegal and rest of the country but not sure now popular an American tribute act will be here. That's no disrespect to Bonamassa, he's clearly big in the States. Might have better luck if they'd announced 1 gig and then announced other if and when it sold out. That said I could be well off the marl and completely underestimating demand.
I was thinking the same
Surprised they haven't announced one concert at least in Dublin . A lot of Rory fans up here too !
Maybe one of the Trinity nights , the week thats in it ?
Don't they have a Rory Gallagher festival in Donegal each summer ?
Obviously that tribute would be made for it
The Lumineers playing St. Anne's Park on 31 May.
as it’s aiken show it would be iveagh but it’s only being done in cork to honour his childhood growing up there
Yeah I know , but think 2 gigs in Cork and none in Dublin is a mistake .
Would go whether it was Iveagh or Trinity , but don't think I would go to Cork , that week !
family wishes so honour his formative years there.
A gig that doesn't come to your location is a mistake haha same ding dong again I swear some Dub heads would next to never attend shows if it wasn't on their doorstep.
Assume they are banking on Joe /or Rory fans outside of Ireland to swan in to see this tribute hence it being set as a once off (despite 2 dates! displayed!).
Is that remark because the poster said they'd prefer a Dublin date rather than trekking down to Cork on a Tuesday or Wednesday? The mistake referring I presume to the probability of a one off in Dublin being easier to sell than a second night in the Marquee? No need to be a dick about it.
I was at the Rory Gallagher festival in Ballyshannon in June for the first time. I could not believe how many older music fans from abroad were at it. A real hardcore following!
Great festival by the way for anyone looking for a good session June bank holiday.
Made for that timeframe
Yup and the fact that it seems to strike a cord with you is the sheer entitlement you'd expect.
People from the rest of the country are beckoned to head to Dublin any time of the week there's a band on tour, with so much time to plan for next summer the day of the week is still a massive hurdle seemingly.
It's I'd go but if there's effort involved they don't want to really. The ones who are genuinely interested will head down.
And there was me thinking we were all on the same side in here. Fair play. You have us pegged alright.
Dalymount? Perfect fit for Fontaines…
No Irish shows in the 25 Springsteen calendar
Heard about the week on the Dalymount seat
Cringey Bohs cash-in, sorry, "commemorative" jersey to mark the occasion no doubt.
green day announcing more eu festivals
Expecting a vital or belsonic date
Anyone got a Slomosa pre sale code please?
trekking down?
How many of us “trek” up on a frequent basis?
Great to have gigs not in Dublin for a change,
doubt Dalymount will be used for anything till after the renovation tbh
Where is it then?
not at liberty to discuss. Wait and see
I don't get you, you had me down as d1ck by simply implying Dublin gig goers rarely have to notion going elsewhere in the country and just found it laughable the poster has already made plans NOT to travel midweek in summer '25.
Suggesting I'm D1ckish because of that means you didn't very much take to that opinion very much.
We on the same side in the sense that well yeah I do accept >90% of shows here means Dublin.
I do it so so often so forgive me at the bamboozlement that a gig hasn't landed in the capital and the idea that someone would venture to another destination months away is alien.
I'm completely fine with them having both gigs in the Marquee, but I think they should move the Marquee to Dublin to make it more accessible.
People from outside Dublin have to come by boat.
Well then why bother posting? It's literally no value to anybody other than telling people that you know something they don't.
I'll be going to one of these anyway. Hopefully a Dublin date will be added. Pity it isn't Lazer Guided Melodies they were playing though.
