South County Dublin has a different definition of riff raff to most of the rest of the country.
In fairness Ballintyre is a nice development, that will sell to some downsizer.
A gardenless one living room apartment. Absolute insanity.
Id rather this and still have a quarter of a million in the back pocket.

sure, and the odd downsizer does that, buys something abroad, but a lot of people are looking for the security of apartment living and to stay close to home. To me it looks like a lovely apartment, id agree a large balcony would be nice but there is oodles of living space and you could always turn the 3rd bedroom into another living room.
Always knew the inside of this place would be swish from driving past it but I didn’t expect a recording studio!
1 million of your euros. What the drone shots tactfully leave out is the New Ross bypass a few metres beyond the hedge! Lorries barrelling down the hill or labouring up it on the way to or from Rosslare 24/7. https://www.daft.ie/for-sale/detached-house-arnestown-barn-arnestown-new-ross-co-wexford/5695471
sold for 740 in 21 hard to see them getting 1m for it?
Balinteer is in SCD in like, geographic terms only, roysh?
For some reason the photo that grabbed me was the free standing bath with "safety rail" 🤣
Seems they didnt sell enough albums to go ahead with the indoor pool…..
What rubbish ? You’ve obviously lived in terraces all your life
What a weird statement. The property could be better presented. Dead plants in the porch, boxes on the table in the sun room, plastic containers lying around in the yard, mound of gravel etc…
Wonder how once you lived in a terrace house makes you get better eyesight of how living in a detached homes makes mess acceptable. Each to their own but if you are selling a house it is always a good idea to present the property at its best
Ballinteer isn't SCD, nor does it have any notions of such. It's Dublin 16. Not even 14 like upmarket Dundrum and (parts of) Rathfarnham. I can still remember when that million quid apartment was a farm…
surely it's schrodinger's ballinteer, in that it's in south county dublin (it's in the south of dublin county) and it's not south county dublin (as in it's in the boundary of DLR, not SDCC)?
The person selling the apartment is trying to get the best price possible, they couldn't give a **** who lives in the estate. Weird enough comment
I still maintain that a €1m apartment in the outskirts is a bizarre combination that they will struggle to sell
You need to relax man, this is After Hours.
There's a lot going on in this house, someone with a big wood fetish too.
https://jpmdoyle.ie/property/grange-beg-dunlavin-brannockstown-co-kildare/
I hope the owner was a chippy as all that timber work was not cheap and doesn't look like cheap timber used either. I don't think there is a room without timber at all.
Such a shame. The exterior is pretty but the interior is awful. I couldn't find a single room I liked.
how many forests had to die for that 😳
Did someone say "New Money".
‘Yes, Niles, but if less is more just imagine how much more more would be.’
i love coming into this thread for a look, in fairness it always a great 5 mins. Now i've never considered ever sayin' anything in here case you all say it so well. fair play to alll the contributors here
but this house WTF
the exterior looks awful. more stench of throwing money at bad taste, it looks like a 1980s bungalow with a load of dressed stone chucked at it.
if you're going to throw that much money at 5 bed, 8,200sq ft house, you've more than enough room to make all bedrooms ensuite, rather than just two of them. at least the buyer would have a chance to turn it into a b&b then!
for the laugh, i threw that into the SCSI home rebuild calculator. you can see the values i entered below. so the asking is good value for money!
It's definitely wood overkill but at the same time it seems to have all been made very well. Some of the light features are certainly interesting.
Aside from all the wood, there's actually a lot that I like about that house. Doubt they'd come with the house, but I really like traditional and classic furniture and there are many many pieces that I really liked there.
I love the kitchen layout (not the colour though), I like the enclosed bath with the mirrors (I'm sure I'd eventually brighten it up, but I like the style anyway), I LOVE that they have snooker table and a gym!!
The only thing that I wouldn't like is the maintaining of the garden grounds 😣
these are lovely houses and built to a high spec but I think they lost the run of themselves with the price one of the semi ds (same size and layout) sold for 6 or 700k less a few years ago

Madness!
The fish on the wall. All I can think about is the Soprano's.
got wood..
You'd have to find someone that likes that sort of thing which is unlikely. Then, if you get someone who doesn't like it you're ripping out very expensive but awful work.
At least you'll have firewood for eighteen years.
